Of all the crochet tutorials on youtube, yours -- by far -- is the easiest to understand. I was struggling to the point of giving up until I came across this video. You explain things and show things in a way that I can understand, where the other tutorials seem like the narrators were performing slight-of-hand by comparison. I have read how to books, taken craft store classes & tried endlessly to get past my mental block. I am soooooooooo delighted that you posted this video!! My mother crocheted and could even make outfits without patterns. I wanted to learn, but she did not have the patience to teach me. It has been decades and I still haven't learned how. Now that I'm a Grandma, I would like to crochet some scarfs for my granddaughters and little matching ones for their dolls. Everyone is right. I watched many videos on how to learn crochet, and your's was the only one that told me how to place my hands, and the yarn, and was done at a very slow and understandable pace. You are a wonderful teacher! All the women in my family crochet except me. I want to but I've always found it hard. In 7 min you've managed to teach me how to begin, chain, single crochet, and turn over to continue. I've also finally understood some terms I've never understood when reading. Even the simplest things like, "why not the first chain?"going into the 2nd chain is clear to me now. Thank you for making this video. I just wanted to thank you. 5 years ago, I was dealing with a lot of struggles in my life. Through all of it, I decided I wanted one thing that was just my own. Great beginners video. I'm slow at getting the hang of it. I find just watching with no hook and yarn close is good- even several times. Then I'm eager to try myself. It takes repetitive practice for me and my stitches look a bit weird, but it gets better using the videos with or without yarn and hook. I'm sloooowly getting the hang of it. I just discovered your channel and boy, what an eye opener! I could never figure out the beginning "pretzel" knot. I have crocheted in the past, but my beginning knot was a bit iffy and I had to make sure I tied it to keep from unraveling the project. Thank you very much. I just learnt how to crochet. The tip about the chain loop on the end of a row was helpful. At first I didn't listen properly and made a triangle. The tension is difficult but like knitting I guess that comes with practice.
