this is the best tutorial I have seen, I have been gelling my nails since the lock down in march as I could not get no where to have my nails sorted, I brought all I needed of eBay, pleased with what I brought, have watched and followed all, I can say very pleased, just finished my nails they look much better with your tutorial, have to agree the lamp institutions do go on a bit but then somer people that are going ot go home and buy one want to know what the lamp is all about instead of buying a cheap one and regret it, thank you

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! :) I was totally over-curing on the base coat and had no idea why my nails were just peeling off, I didn't scrub it in either. I was wondering why my gels were so short lived before they came off. Also didn't know to cap the edge first thing either, seriously this is so helpful thank you! Sad part about me doing this to myself is that I can't pinch my own skin away :( lol

You menitioned normal wear and tear being part of the guarantee and then put washing or doing dishes into the the picking at your nails category. I would think that washing dishes IS part of normal wear and tear and if the nails lift or come off then we should repair that nail or nails if it has happened in a short period of time such as the first week. Wouldn't you agree?
@jimster8058 жыл бұрын
if you read those guarantees, i've noticed that companies will say something like 'guaranteed to last UP TO 2-3 weeks' so its a trick lol also, if done correctly, ususally it'll range from 2-4 weeks in my experience

But.. if it's possible to overcure, how do you do a french manicure? What I mean is, when you apply the white, you cure the white on the tip but you also "double cure" the pink/transparent on the remaining part of the nail. That's something that I'd want to understand better..

Hello! Should I use a gel matte top coat over a regular gel top or just over the colored gel polish? Also, if I do use the gel matte top coat over the shiny gel top coat, should I remove the sticky layer?
@ashcashcarter8 жыл бұрын
You could use gel over regular polish, you just want to make sure the regular polish is completely dried before you apply gel. With the gel top coats, I would wipe the inhibition layer off the last coat you use. If you use a clear gel top coat & want to use a matte gel top coat, I would keep the sticky layer so the matte coat has something to adhere to.
@MusiqChildx8 жыл бұрын
+Shwee Beez thanks!
@MeAndMyBonnet8 жыл бұрын
MusiqChildx You only need one or the other not both. They both serve the same purpose in securing the color on the nail but gives a different look. If you choose do both, you do not need to remove the inhibition (sticky) layer until the very end. No different than after each coat of color, you do not need to remove the sticky as it adheres to the next coat.
@missbeachvolley7 жыл бұрын
Great, thanks for the nice explanation! Did you do any kind of manicure before? I don't cut my cuticle and wouldn't like to start..but I am afraid that if I just push it, the polish will raise after a couple of days. This actually happened to me when I had it done in the salon without "proper" manicure before. The polish raised from the root of the nail :( And I did a pedicure and same nail polish at the same time in the same salon and that lasted a long time..Any experience on this? Thanks a lot in advance! 😊

I'm looking everyone and can't find troubleshooting for gel colour that fades/ changes colour. since there has been this new trend of colour changing/mood changing polish it's confusing my search results on Google and KZbin. what I'm really trying to find out is how to prevent light colours like tan nude white and cream to start fading into what appears to be dirty polish. I even tried using cnd shellac since they are known to be number one but the colour cream puff which is a white, starts turning nude or beige after a week or so. all I read online is that this is normal. so does that mean we just all accept this terrible flaw and just avoid light colours ? sounds kind of stupid tbh.

Peace, has any of your clients complained of nail breakage with gel polish? It seems as if with natural nails gel polish makes the natural nails weak.
@jessyinthe3058 жыл бұрын
I agree, it does.
@MeAndMyBonnet8 жыл бұрын
Divine gel polish doesn't make the natural nail weak no more than acrylic does. What makes it weak is improper application. The natural nail only needs a slight buff to remove the shine to allow product to adhere to the plate. During removal, never file it off but soak it off. However, acetone can dry the nail and cause it to be brittle. The best product is by the original makers of gel polish CND, a product called nourishing remover. It removes the gel polish while nourishing the nail and it has a pleasant scent. Huge difference from acetone.

xOmqJay you can use a gel polish or regular nail lacquer. Just make sure you take off the inhibition (sticky) layer with the alcohol first. Then buff the shine off so polish could adhere as it will be too slick for the polish to stick without buffing.

Why apply foundation in a circular motion?
@jennagibson90348 жыл бұрын
Lucky Lucy Ricardo I know I'm late on replying but the reason that you apply the foundation coat in a circular motion is because it will cover mor of your nail than doing it down the way because putting natural nails under a UV IR LED lamp can seriously damage your nails
@AaronW-ww4ds6 жыл бұрын
The scrubbing only really applies if you're doing gel nail extensions not gel polish as you apply gel polish the same way you would with normal polish only difference is you'd buff the shine off the nail prime and dehydrate

you need to make sure the primer covers the nail at every corner. that may be the issue.
@MeAndMyBonnet8 жыл бұрын
Tiia Belanger Also, make sure the corners are rounded a bit because if they're too sharp, leaves it easier to separate at that point. It is not necessary to put primer on any type of gel.
