Of course she is a teacher. One thing is to speak the language another thing is communicate well with your students worse when these students are "invisible". . My advice for those are learning, learn for fun not because you have exam or a test and you need it urgently, this creates unwanted pressure and usually it doesn't work well. Don't change your teacher too much, as you have chosen her, stick with her. Learn at your pace, even five minutes per week consistently, you enjoy it. Make sure you plan to learn at that for a year or more(like your hobby) you will be super cool. Soon. Don't compare your knowledge with others, get some french firends: use audio to discuss not chat in its written form. Our best teacher is the environment, if you can afford it, travel to a French speaking country. BONNE JOURNÉE ❤🎉😊

I've started learning french as my 7th language, never conducted any form of speech in French ever before. What amazes me is that the pronunciation of alot of words literally sound like some random voices a person makes when he hesitates. It baffles me that people actually understand a word with barely 2 syllables which I've not yet experienced in any other language. But your guidance helped me to get started, thankyou from Pakistan.

Thank you this video. I just so happen to randomly find it. I am amazed at how this helped in just a few minutes of listening, and repeating you. I am now out of school, but for MANY years I took French classes and still remained a beginner. I was completely unaware of the fact that some letters/ words you are suppose to link together. This helped SO much. Now a lot of my past french lessons and hearing the way sentences are spoken are finally starting to make sense to me. I'm still trying to grasp the idea of infinitive words. I remember learning about them, but I have forgotten what they are and what it means for a verb to be infinitive.

I'm looking forward to seeing the video, even though it is probably a bit basic for me. I was astonished at how well my partner and I coped in France recently, despite still having a small vocabularly. Maybe, it is partly because of you Dylane. I suppose that speaking Spanish and teaching English helped too - we find ways around language problems. But as a language teacher I must say something important straight off: Books can really lead you the wrong way, especially when learning English, but even in other languages. I have friends and family who are fluent in written French, but they cannot pronounce a word of French correctly. Worse still, their precipitate exposure to written French assures that they shall never pronounce French correctly, and they shall always have trouble understanding spoken French. (Well many persons from that generation have passed on now.) I hope that your lesson here is timely for some vulnerable students who might otherwise fall into the same trap.
@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane2 жыл бұрын
Mike I would say that Spanish and English definitely help, although sometimes it can make things more confusing. For books I don't really agree, the problem aren't books, the problem is that everyone jumps into grammar and conjugation without learning how French words are built. I always recommend to start by learning pronunciation. Spoken French and written French are two different languages, by learning how to pronounce everything first, anyone can use books to learn :)
@Zoco1012 жыл бұрын
@@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane I think we're arriving at the same conclusion. I would agree that it's very important to tune into a language and get the sounds right before fussing over complex grammar or learning new words in books. Books have their time and place. Some teachers and students open them too soon.

Hi, thank you for your videos. I'm finding them helpful to review what I learned years ago now that I'm trying to learn French again. I have a question. In part 1 of this video, you say that you never pronounce the last letter of a word that ends in P, D, T, S, X, or Z. You stressed it: "NEVER! But in Part 2, when you talk of connected speech (which, by the way, is present in all languages), you demonstrate that you actually do pronounce the last letter of words ending in those letters when the word is followed by a word beginning with a vowel (except when the first word is a verb infinitive). So it's a bit of a contradiction, n'est-ce pas? A small matter, but I love learning languages and discussions like these can be very helpful to me. Keep making your excellent videos!
@TheperfectfrenchwithDylane4 жыл бұрын
Hi Joe. That's a good question and I have to say it was one of my first videos and I should have explained everything better for sure. We don't pronounce the last letter even when there is a link. The letter is usually transferred to the next word : - Des achats = Des Zachats - Mon école = Mon Nécole - C'est à toi = C'est Tà toi I hope it clarifies your question 🙂

That's because this one is optional. Since I already have a liaison between nous and avons, I tend to not add a second one to sound more natural and less heavy. But it all depends on the sentence :)

Another excellent video, bravo! One quick question at the end of the quiz: Les piments sont masculins, vrai? Yet the quiz calls them "epicees." Shouldn't the spelling be "Les piments sont tres epices?" (Please forgive the lack of accents) Merci milles fois :)

Was wondering if you would make a video on the double e’s at the end of a lot of French words. Do they identify a certain type of words, eg, adjectives or serve some other purpose. Thanks.

Do you mean "préférées"? This type of endings? I will make one yes :)
