Learning how to ride a bicycle doesn't have to be difficult or painful. With the proper size bike frame, a helmet and a few minutes of practice just about anyone can get it. To begin, lower the saddle so you can sit on the bike with both feet reaching the ground for stability. Next, kick along with both of your feet and get used to balancing. Once you're comfortable coasting for short distances try putting one foot on the pedal while kicking with the other. Make sure you know how to use the brakes (some bicycle pedal backwards for braking and others have hand brakes). The final step is kicking off and putting both feet on the pedals. At this point you should be able to pedal the bike and stay balanced but if you feel like falling you can just put a foot down to catch yourself. enjoy riding your bike for exercise, affordable transportation and to meet new people in the community. I learned how to cycle 2 months ago, at the age of 33. I put the bike in my car and drove to a quiet road out of town at night and practised there, because I was too embarrassed to be seen. 2-3 nights later, I finally joined the club and now I cycle daily. To whoever is reading this and wants to learn: I know very well how you feel, and I believe in you! Don't let your hesitation win, you can do it!

I did it! I am 18 years old, and I never rode a bike. It was kind of a bad childhood. Two weeks ago, I saw one of my friends in college riding one, and it looked very fun. I was thinking that I don't want to die without giving it a try. So I talked to him and said that I never rode one. He started laughing and thought I was joking. He was in shock when he realized that I wasn't joking. After that, he and some other friends encouraged me to buy one, so I did. The first day of learning how to ride didn't go smoothly. It hurt to sit on the bike, and I couldn't move it. My friends started teaching me for about three hours, and then I started going in a straight line with the bike. It was a huge process for me, and after that, I fell and hurt my hand. It was very painful, and I could barely sleep that night. For a few days, I couldn't ride it because of my hand. Then I kept training with my friends, and I fell and hurt myself many times. It really wasn't easy. Today at 12 am, when I was about to sleep, I looked at the sky from my window, and I felt a weird positive energy. I took my bike and rode it. I was scared, but I did it anyway. I was heading to the beach near my home, and I was riding it well somehow, although I was very scared. After some time, I stopped and called my friends. I told them that I was going to the beach by bike. They thought I was joking since it was the middle of the night. I sent them a picture, and they were in shock. It was hilarious. Then they woke up, took their bikes, and followed me. We rode together, and it was like a dream for me two weeks ago. It was unforgettable memories. I am glad that I didn't give up learning and trying. It was completely worth it! :)

I am 15, which means in my teens... With lot of courage and ignoring what others think about me I went to learn cycling today... I had always been shy about this and used to hide it from my friends but today I finally did it! The feeling is amazing not only because I learnt a new skill of cycling but because I learnt to ignore what others think about me... For all those who want to learn it, I know its not easy but the outcome is wonderful... Just shut your ears and go for it. There's nothing you cannot!

I’m 36 years old and was so afraid of learning how to ride a bike because of fear of falling. But three days ago I decided to give a try after watching this video. Day 1 after 2 hours of trying. I was able to ride about 10 metres! Yesterday I was able to ride even longer distance, about 20 meters. And today, I was able to ride probably about 200-300 meters and also able to make big turns. Still working on my turn in a cul-du-sac and uphill. But I’m making good progress every day. All thanks to this video. I followed the exact steps. Now I can enjoy bike ride with my five year old daughter!thank you so much for this video.

I grew up with some ignorant friends who were mean like that... but then I found out later as we grew up that they had abusive parents and limited support in their lives. Most of them have really struggled in life, it doesn't make it alright for them to be mean and laugh at you for trying but there might be more to the story that you don't know. I wish you luck and hope this video helps!

For those who are trying to ride a bicycle - don't give up. This tutorial Is pretty good. It took me like a week to ride the bike. First few days it was terrible - trying to balance/use one leg. Sooner or later you'll learn how to glide. Once you are confident with gliding , you'll use pedal It takes time but don't give up

I learned how to ride a bike last week. I'm 61 years old. My mum and dad never wanted me to ride a bike for whatever reasons. I grew up and always regretted never learning. You then reach a stage of being embarrassed about trying to learn. I asked my cousin to teach me. I learnt in 15 minutes. He taught me well and simply. It helped learning in a quiet place. The surface wasn't ideal but when I fell ( which you do ) I landed on grass not concrete. After three hours of practicing turns and maintaining balance it was exhilarating. You are never too old to learn. I can now tick that off my bucket list . All I can say is, it's easier than you think. Just a pity I waited so long.

For starters learning how to ride a bike, here are some tips for you: 1. Never look down, always look in front of you. Looking down will cause you to lose your balance and fall while looking in front allows you to know your surroundings. 2. Adjust the seat to your favourable position. Too high might cause you to lose grip of the pedal and fall, while too low moght cause you difficulty in turning. 3. Always have your hand/hands on the brakes. You can put your hand on one brake also, it doesn’t matter because I do that all the time. If holding on to both brakes os more comfortable to you, it is nothing different. 4. Always start off with your strong foot on the pedal. Before you start Cycling, you want to make sure you have your dominant foot on the pedal facing upwards so that you cam have a good start.

I'm 24 and I learned to ride a bike in 30 mins. At first I was scared because I keep thinking to myself that I'm not able to balance, but when my uncle gave me tips and told me that I should look straight to the direction that I need to go and not down I was shocked that I was already learning how to balance. I realized that I shouldn't lose hope and just believe in yourself.

First thing happens when I unlock it via app, it starts lighting up like a Christmas tree and starts playing a short tune. I'm thinking "quick! Escape!" So tried riding for a few minutes but people heard the noise, saw the lights and came to investigate...so I ditched the bike and ran 😂 Ok I didn't actually run but...walked briskly away from the "crime scene" ...the crime being my failed attempt at ..the whole thing really lol ...try again tomorrow 😅

I just got my first bike a few days ago, and with the help of my mom, I went outside today and worked on balancing. I had a mild fear of falling while doing it, though, and therefore, I overcompensated a lot. This led to a lot of tilting around, and not a lot of actual balancing. So when I stumbled upon this video a few minutes ago, it was a miracle! I might just try this kicking method tomorrow if I get a chance! From the looks of things here, it works really well!

This helps SO MUCH! People say you can never forget how to ride a bike... but... I used to be able to... But I'd always forget. Now here I am, at 16 years old, haven't even attempted to ride a bike in 2 years and the last time I tried I just couldn't do it. My issue has always been my balance. I've only now (because of this video) discovered that you're meant to be able to stand above your bike comfortably and with your feet on the ground. Every time I've ever ridden (or attempted to ride) a bike the closest my feet have ever been to the ground was tippy toes and the seat would hurt me. THANK YOU!!!!

You method makes much more sense because you chunk it down so that they get the hand of it one small bit at a time rather than trying to master all the skills at once.

I think it can take some time to develop really good balance, sports like gymnastics help young people develop it early and then transfer to bicycles, skiing and other sports. If you do little practice rides frequently (like daily) then with sleep and time your balance will develop :)

I'm going to practice these tricks because, I wanna learn how to ride a bike. I'm 13 and it's kinda embarrasing you know, when all your friends get around with their bikes and you have to walk. And it's more embarrasing when you live in germany and like everybody knows how to ride a bike

Same. I'm 18 but I live in kind of a poor town so not many people my age have cars. They use bikes! But I never learned so I can't go anywhere and I'm too embarrassed to learn because I'm afraid people will make fun of me.

Lucía Music Station So many great responses here, we were just happy to help! I was made fun of as a younger person for all kinds of stuff... I think people can just be insecure sometimes, even Brian (my friend in the video) was nervous about going on camera for this video but now he is so happy that he did because of your great comments :) Please ride safe out there and take your time! Remember what it feels like to be picked on and be nice to others, maybe they have mean parents or siblings and don't realize that they are just passing on the hurt instead of ending the cycle. Hopefully they will mature over time.

ElectricBikeReview.com Hey! Great news! I finally learned how to ride a bike :D! Thank you so much your tricks helped me a lot :). So I started riding with my little cousins bike, which I can ride perfectly now, but my own bike, I can ride it too, but it is a little difficult for me to get on it, because the seat is too high for me, but I already cleared that with my dad, and he will put the seat down as much as he can tomorrow. Anyway, I finally know how to ride a bike, because of you, so thanks!:)

literally watched this video along with the other adult video learning how to bike about an hour ago 2am in our local time before going out to practice the bike that I bought 3 days ago. I'm turning 28 years old and I can't express how happy I am to finally be able to ride a bike after 40 mins! You, who's like me, i know it's kind of embarassing but you can do it. You just have to put your mind in to it and forget about that fear for a minute. THANK YOU MAN!

After watching this video 8 years late, this still helps me. My parents TRIED teaching my brother biking, but… let’s just say.. it didn’t go that well.. They stopped teaching him how to ride a bike because they said he was too “addicted to his games”, which, is the typical parent excuse. He turned 13 and NOW he’s starting to learn how to bike. He watched this EXACT video, and he learned how to bike in under an hour! Now, 9 year old me, is trying to learn how to bike, since my parents NOW want me to bike. Thanks for making this video. edit: yes I’m surprisingly a 9 year old typing this entire paragraph

My dad wasn't abusive, but he left my mom, and at Christmas that year, he came back after being gone a long time. He left a bike for me. But he didn't stick around and help me learn to ride it. That may have been why I had trouble learning. It was the same way with swimming (I was learning but after he left, I couldn't do it) and skating. I always felt alone and didn't know how to do anything.
