If the last step doesn't work: - Make sure you turn the bottom face instead of turning the whole cube to get the next piece - Finish the 4 moves (don't stop at 3) If you still manage to solve the yellow side but ruin the white side, you might have a twisted piece that you will have to fix by twisting it or taking the cube apart. (To know for sure, the last step requires you to repeat the 4 moves either a total of 6 times or 12 times. If you get a different total, like 8, then you need to physically twist a piece)

Dude, this is the best 2x2 tutorial I've found online. You make the 'theory' simple, and aren't just focused on "memorize these 9x moves and repeat them until you have achieved success". I was actually able to "look at the cube", find the colour I wanted, and was able to "move it" where it needed to be thanks to you! Appreciate this!

I struggled with 2x2 for a while years ago and now I'm back into puzzles I checked this out after learning to solve a 3x3 with your tutorial in under 2 minutes. As soon as you started teaching the algorithims and I was able to notice they were the same as corner solves and corner orientations for the 3x3 I got it in under 30 seconds. 4x4 next for me!

I just did the white placing like a 3x3 white corner, then did the 3x3 yellow corner swapping and I thank you for the hint about having only 1 yellow corner placed correctly before doing it though. That would probably take me a few hours to figure out. Then just flipped the pieces like you did, but I am used to having the yellow up, so it is inverted. It is easier/faster to see the yellow aligned like this.

@@wasnexhere I imagine if you haven't learned 3x3 this might be a bit tricky. Coming here after getting a 29 second on the 3x3 and this 2x2 is extremely simple. Basically cause it's the same as the 3x3 but with a fraction of the steps. So if you haven't done 3x3 I could see how it would not be so easy. Hang in there though, eventually it all becomes very easy.

When you see that it's actually a "circle", you'll understand. I don't mean to make it sound more complicated, but if you heard him say that "you may have to do this up to five times..." it's because the sixth time brings you right back where you started. There's an even faster way if you just went left instead of right, but the purpose of his video was to keep it as simple as possible (one algorithm). I teach WITHOUT using algorithms. I want people to see what the "algorithm" is actually doing to the pieces. Cubing is a blast, 7x7 is my next challenge! Have fun, and good luck!

First time I tried to solve just two pieces were out of place and it was almost complete. Then I tried again and got the yellow in the left corners instead of the right. I reversed the algorithm for the last part to solve for them being on the left and it worked! First time solving any cube! Thanks man

Thanks mate! Nice to see the same "basic" algo applies as 3x3 cube. We're only solving the corners of a 3x3 essentially, so use the same algo as corners of 3x3. It's all making sense now. Only been cubing for 1 week. (following your vids brought solving 3x3 time down from 25+ mins to avg 5 mins in 1 week) Loving the challenge of getting better, and feel fairly confident that the basics can now extrapolate to any cube size....
