Just wanted too share n if it useful im glad. For the person に grammar. The way im avoiding confusing myself for starter is, i will make sentences using only the subject. For example. 1. Yamadasan wa agemasu. (Yamada gives) 2. Yamadasan wa naraimasu. (Yamada learns) Then the second person added to the sentences will make sense by themsleves. 1. Yamadasan wa [sensei ni] agemasu. (Yamada gives to sensei). 2. Yamadasan wa [sensei ni] naraimasu. (Yamada learns from sensei) Hope it helps.

@NihonGoal6 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's correct! ;) I know it's confusing because in English we use two different words TO and FROM to distinguish the two, but in nihongo they use the same particle. To make it easier I suggest to just use KARA for verb moraimasu 私は先生からコーヒーをもらいました。

Thank you so much for making these videos but I found this particular lesson a bit confusing for a beginner like me. 1. the honorific "san" was not added in some sample sentences. I thought this was a must. 2. In the sample sentence, "She learned Japanese from Ms. Yamada." Sensei was saying something different from the sentence pattern presented on the visual aid. "Kanojo wa Yamada san ni nihongo o naraimashita vs. Yamada san wa kanojo ni nihongo o naraimashita."

こんにちは みなさん。 I have two doubts here.. 1. At 15:34 , how do i answer "no, I cannot write in Spanish*? Is it " iie, kakimasen"? 2. At 15:54, I was wondering what would be the translation for "who gave you the Christmas present"? As compared to who did you get Christmas present from.. Even though the sentences mean the same, the pattern is different. How would it affect the sentence formation in Japanese?
