Instead of Ableton creating flams I'd rather have quantizing recognizing my played flams, so it can keep the distance to the main note instead of destroying each flam during quantizing.

A lot of interesting comments here. These are just creative tools! What ever happened to LEARNING how to compose properly? People seem to just want Ableton to do all the hard work for them. Soft!

I was very excited about the quantize feature to see how the swing percentage changes the note postion gradually....but it's not there!? PLEASE add the swing dial to quantize!!! And grid size of 5ths and 7ths, so we can make these sweet Dilla beats like in Cubase and others DAWs.
@cp3io8 ай бұрын
You can swing percentages by using the groove feature which has been there for years. Also, you can make Dilla-style quintuplets or septuplets beats by using MIDI stretch markers: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gIa2Z3uKjNN7qs0.

I’d really like to see these generative and transformative tools come to Push. I understand it’s hard to translate them to hands on control. But it’d be a great set of tools to have, without resorting to making music with the mouse.

Interesting! I think with some experimentation and creative mapping, this set of midi tools will produce good results

There is also a great "velocity Shaper" to draw midi velocities on the clip. It is under "Max For Live:"

You really like small buttons. You also could have made a button "Apply" which would be much easier to hit. The space is there and it's much easier to understand

Thanks @ableton, but the problem I'm having with these generative MIDI tools is that, with multiple MIDI clips on different tracks with different instruments, when I change the generative properties in one clip it's automatically changing the others too. I don't see how you did this wherein you're able to affect each clip uniquely.

Quantize and humanize seems to happen to every midi clip at the same time identically??? What if I want to quantize one clip but not the others?
@Ableton7 ай бұрын
Hi there - Thanks for the comment. There are a few ways to do things like that, but maybe easiest is to select the clip so that you're seeing it in the Clip View at the bottom of the screen. Then, you can highlight the notes in the clip, and right-click, then click "Quantize". Hope this helps, Ableton

ALL the official Ableton demos have been desperately bad. The new MIDI tools features in Live are great. But the musical content and delivery in these official Ableton vids has been nothing short of plain shit. Thankfully there are good videos on YT showing the new MIDI tools very well - SideBrain has some great stuff
@thrash24298 ай бұрын
Yes, because these new features can only be used to make music that sounds exactly like this.
