Not quite. Samplitude Pro added this feature over a year ago and you can do so much more. For instance... you can not only comp over a section but you can actually comp over from a different portion of the takes or even add to the 8 bar measure to make a 16 bar measure. Sorta like chopping and splicing your takes however you like. Ableton is getting there... they're just taking the scenic route. Samplitude Pro added MPE function a year ago too. Still on the fence whether MPE is truly the evolution of MIDI considering the weirdo touch keys on those MPE keybed instruments. Seems more gimmicky than anything.

Ableton could have done better with this honestly. It’s really basic and late to the party. It’s time for Ableton to something ground breaking again. This is kinda basic. And she’s right, Samplitude in some ways is 10 years ahead of some DAWs in certain features.

It's things like this (I'm including the multi-track comping) that help to make Ableton Live my favorite DAW. I love that you don't make it a pain to edit parts of the takes after you've comped them. They remain easy to edit, and easy to re-comp. And comping drums is at least 4X easier now with the multi-track comping. Thank you!

Dear Ableton Live engineers. Please add the mixer pane in arrangement view. Don't ask me how this feature has been overlooked all of these years. Live is the ONLY DAW on the market right now that doesn't have a option to display the channel mixer in its linear sequencer. Just add a tab button at the bottom of the screen where we can select either our plugin chain, clip editor or the mixer pane. I thought for sure you guys and girls would've added it in Live 11... but nope.
