I really want to talk thai. I lived in Okinawa for 2yrs. So I was able to communicate and enjoy the country. If you want to know how and why I learned Japanese, that's a funny story. You would definitely appreciate it. But my question is, would you be able to get me in touch with a person who speaks thai ? When I came back to the states, it was fun going into a Japanese restaurant. But now my vocabulary is limited. You are cute and fun to learn from. Reminds me of how much Asians love to have fun. Smiles.

@@Jaxksworld I was in the Marines. Okinawa was so nice, I stayed an extra year. We used to go to a place called Sunset Beach. People were learning the language quickly. So I ask how was they doing it. They said the kids at the beach. It made sense. Kids are simple. So why not. Within a few weeks. I could. Here's the funny. My friend learned from his girlfriend. So we were talking to some guys and one them said that he talked like a girl. Apparently there's a different dialect for men and women. Luckily I talked like a kid. So nothing was said. What drove me was when I got lost there. Just walking around. I had no Yen and couldn't speak. So no food or drink for me. It was several hours before I got back to base. It was fun speaking another language. But I lost it when I came home and couldn't speak it to anyone. I now respect people who speak their own language here in the U.S.

Dear Jay, for my understanding "I" in Thai should be "ฉัน" but not "ชั้น". However, many of your videos spells "I" as "ชั้น" instead of "ฉัน". Would you please clarify it? Thank you very much.

I agree. "ฉัน" is the correct way to mean "I/me". Both "ฉ" and "ช" has "Ch-" sound but the tones are different. "ชั้" is more likely a typo in this part or a confusion part between written and spoken version. But if you're pertaining to yourself (I/me), definitely "ฉัน" is the correct one.
