I have studio one 3 and 5. On my 5 I open up audio setup and for inputs there is already channel 1 and channel 2 highlighted but when I go to add more mono channels they show up but not highlighted like the first 2 and when I push apply they go away and end up with the same 1 and 2 channel mono. It does show the inputs on left side I added but the M are not there and if I add them again and push apply they disappear. Have been trying to figure out why for a week. My Studio one 3 does fine with me adding.

If I have songs recorded in 48 is there an easy way to convert those songs to 44.1? By songs I mean all the data in the individual tracks not the two channel mixdown. I recently bought Blackstar amp. On Presonus forum I've read that i need to use ASIO4ALL as a audio device but after recording my guitar the sound was distorted to unrecognisable measure. Anyone else with the same problem? I cannot find a fix for it anywhere.

my issue is that its SUPER laggy. I press play and whatever loop I decide to place into the track to test it out, it plays the first two seconds and then jumps back a second, and then plays the next 2 seconds and then jumps back a second... what do I need to do?! I need help asap

I can't enable multicore processing, even though I have 8 cores integrated into my PC. In BIOs there also isn't an advanced tab to enable hyperthreading. This one core can't handle Studio One, so there a lot of CPU Spikes. Does anyone have the same problem?

been learning much from your videos. question: I am inputing an analog keyboard which is plugged into the line in (blue) on the sound card inputs. so in audio setup I would choose windows audio. No need to mess with the "external devices" tab correct? also plan to input microphone and other items by way of the sound card line in. so same with them?

Correct, if you are not using any MIDI connection/devices, you should not need to worry about making any configurations with the external devices tab.

I have a problem. When I record a midi keyboard this is recorded "advanced" ... I do not know why that happens. I have the Focusrite 18i8 and use presonus studio one 3.5 If it does, help me. !!

Not sure I understand what you mean by "advanced". Are your notes being pushed forward and the timing is playing back differently then as you recorded it while playing? If so, you may want to turn your "input quantize" function off. At the very top of the Song page in Studio One you should see your quantize panel. It will say "Quantize, Timebase, Snap..." Just to the left of that, you should see a button that says "IQ", turn that off and see if this helps.

Hey, Cage. My only recommendation would be to be sure that you download the latest drivers for the Focusrite from their website and see if that helps. Also, if you have another DAW installed on your computer, see if it shows up there. This would then definitely pinpoint that the problem lies specifically with S1.

I would try re-installing the drivers for your interface. Make sure that you go to the Presonus website and get the latest version of the driver, as well.

Hi Quanta! I am total newbie in production. I just bought a zoom h1 for live recording but was hoping to connect it to the Studio One DAW by following the steps you had mentioned, It almost seems to work except when the earphones are not connected to the recorder, there is a hissing/static sound all the time. Is there any thong wrong that I am doing? Also, I have downloaded the drivers specific to Zoom H1, so I guess I have done the basic steps right.

I spent all day learning that the S1 3.5 Pro version upgrade doesn't like my Audiobox USB and crashes before it opens. So I bought the Audiobox USB 96, but I can't load its drivers due to my OS not being compatible. So, it's either back to using S1 2 Producer or buying a new computer. That may be the same issue that you are having.

When I connect my audio box it says it failed to open both “Speakers (-2 AudioBox USB) and “Analog Connector (2- AudioBox USB” then says to make sure that the speaker configuration is set to stereo. (Which I’ve done) and then it says to make sure the that the sample rates of your recording and playback devices match. I’m pretty sure I’ve done all that. And it still won’t work. Any help ??

When you say you set up your "Presonus", are you referring to an audio interface like this... bit.ly/2icunC8 After installing the driver for your audio device, it show up in the drop-down menu. It actually should default to the device. At the very least you should be able to choose "Windows Audio" or core audio on the Mac.

Dmitry Khorov I figured it out a while ago. for this program you have to go to an online forum, but check your input and output audio settings when going to record your vocals. Match it up to the forums depiction and the waves popped up for me! hard to explain but just Google search presonus no audio wavelengths and go to the presonus support forum. that's where I figured it out

Not sure I understand your question... You should definitely be able to hear your beat/instrumental if you've chosen the Focusrite in the audio device menu. The Focusrite only uses ASIO drivers so, they are one in the same.

Yes, so I don't know why it's not working. Because I use Focusrite USB driver. I think the focusrite usb 2.0 is for the scarlett 2i since I only have the focusrite solo.

Yes. I'm wondering if it's because the set up is expecting us to hook the focusrite with a speaker? But, idk how you will record a vocal track when the beat is playing in the speakers as well lol. I still can't figure it out :( Studio One 3 says it's easy as 1,2,3... I thought it would be as easy as my previous Cakewalk Music Creator 7. Figured it out in no time.

I assume you're talking about the sample rate? Are you opening other windows when you're using Studio One, like a web browser, for instance? What audio interface are you using? You may want to go to "Studio One/Options" and then choose the "Audio Setup" tab. Within this tab, be sure that "Release Audio Device in Background" is UN-checked.

Sure you can. Just be sure to download the driver for it if you are on Windows. I don't believe you need one for a Mac. After that, you'd then just select it within the Audio Device window.

@@antrxw7041 I would try re-installing your universal control. This should be the only bit of software that you need, to have the interface work. So, uninstall the one you have, first. Then, I'd download the latest version from their website ( www.presonus.com/products/AudioBox-USB-96/downloads ) and install that. Hope that helps...

If your goal is to strictly record vocals or an instrument into Studio One then, yes, it will/should work. Just keep in mind that if you were wanted to record, say a singer while hearing back the vocals with a reverb effect in Studio One, you MAY have some delay/latency issues. But for simply getting audio recorded into Studio One, it should be fine. i'm getting a slight delay in studio one (even without effects). i think it's 4 ms, is that normal?

If you're using the mic along with your built-in audio card (Windows) than this is pretty normal. If you're trying to monitor your recordings live and are having the delay in your headset, then the only thing I could recommend would be to open up Studio Ones audio options tab. Then, if you're using Windows audio, click the "control panel" button and move the "Latency[ms]" slider all the way to the left - which it sounds like you may have done already. Lastly, checking the "Exclusive" box does actually make a difference if you're hearing an audible delay. I essentially got rid of any delay, when I tried it on my system.

Looks M-Audio was sold to another company and the Fast Track is now under Avid support. The only thing I can recommend is visiting this link: avid.force.com/pkb/articles/download/Fast-Track-Pro-Drivers Download the most recent update driver for your device and see if that helps. Uninstall your any old driver for the device, first. Hope this helps.

Additional tips, IF you're on the PC: When you plug the M-audio into your computer with the USB, do you receive a notification sound that it has been connected? While it is connected, does windows recognize it? i.e., will audio from say a youtube video play through it? Go into your Audio Properties by right-clicking the speaker icon on your task bar and see if it is showing up there, first. Let me know...

Don't throw the computer away! (-; You can't really set your USB mic as the default audio device because it doesn't produce any audio. If you are on a PC/Windows, what you'd need to do is choose Windows as your audio device and within your windows settings be sure that your USB mic is set as the recording source. You can set your mic to be the recording source within Windows by right-clicking on the speaker icon in your task bar, then choose "open sound settings". Then, just be sure the under "Input", you've got your USB mic set. Keep in mind that you're going to have some latency/delay in your audio...

(EDIT: Nevermind, I think I solved it. It's coming from a free transient plugin that got pushed too hard) Yeah I think I need a good driver. Right now I just use the windows audio so I'm not able to change the buffer size (as far as I know), which is unfortunate because only in this one song file, I'm hearing pops every so often; nothing about it would cause it as far as I'm concerned, but it could be multiple instances of room reverb, though that hasn't been much of a problem before. The click/pop seems to happen randomly after a while and stay for a bit, and hitting solo will trigger the pop sound. If there's a fix for this, I'd be super happy to hear it, thank you

That's a proprietary audio interface designed to be used with Pro tools...probably not gonna work with S1.

I would just go to the "Options" menu, select the "Audio Setup" tab, and then click on the "Control Panel" button. From within there, drop your "latency/Device Block Size" down to a level of 128, or below. This should take care of your problem.

I would view 7:25 of the video. If that doesn't resolve your issue than there's something probably not correctly set in the virtual mixer software that should have come with your interface. This software should be installed before connecting the device, I believe. I don't have that particular device, so it'd be difficult to troubleshoot without seeing it.

1:39 - that is not quite accurate. You can easily work with 256 buffer size without latency messing with Your brain when playing live. Some ppl got used to 1024 buffer. Its all about real system performance (not talking about CPU) - lower You go with buffer size the better "real time performance" needs to be. With amount of devices trying access CPU at the same time and poor multi- core software optimization its really hard to put together combination of hardware that its perfect for DAW's. Sometimes You might find Yourself upgrading CPU alone to new generation and at the end turns out Your old setup had better "real time performance" and You cant use same amount of VST's at the same time anymore. Anyways - have a good one!

Since the audio box doesn't have a balance control on it, it may be that one of your speakers died in the headphones. I'd try connecting them to another source like your phone or another stereo you may have to see if they both work that way. If they do, then there's some bad setting in your S1 audio setup.

When I recorded my tutorials at a slower pace people told my they were too slow and boring, when I do them quicker, people want me to slow down. I can't please everyone. What you could do is click on the gear icon in the bottom right corner of the video window and change the playback speed to, say, 0.75.
