Nice! Finally a straightforward tutorial on sampling. I've been looking into samplers lately but this video gives me enough to get started using my Presonus S1 and controller for playing samples in a live setting, thx!

It's interesting there is no vertices line that follows the sample as it plays so you can see where you are in the waveform like Ableton Simpler and Sampler
@quantaaudio7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Sample One needs a few improvements. It wouldn't take much to make it a much better, simple sample playback device for basic work.

How can I have multiple samples in one song. I'm using multiple sample one instances but I add a new sample to the second instance just plays both sounds and now it won't stop playing the first sample with everything turned off

I can't distinguish the difference between the glide time at 238 ms compared to the one at 775 shown around 19:30? Is it just me, or what?

it always crashes for me, i would invest in a copy of NI kontact

Can the sampler in Studio One maintain sample playback speed while changing pitch? Example, as a sample is played lower on the keyboard, it will not slow down the playback but still reduce pitch? Thanks
@quantaaudio7 жыл бұрын
As far as I am aware, Sample One does not allow you to do this. Presence XT does have a parameter control dial called "Sample Shift" which allows you to adjust the playback speed of your samples, but, I don't think it's exactly what you're looking for. I'd check out how it works in the manual. I also have a vid on it, here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gKKweoSue6yMhK8m48s

Quanta awesome thanks! I've been messing with studio one lately. I still produce in FL but looking into switching to studio one to do the final mixing and mastering of my tracks

I want to load a sound into sample one and then have it sustained when I play the keys. How do I do that? The notes will play but they won't sustain.
@quantaaudio6 жыл бұрын
I thought I had responded to this... In case you're still having issues, you need to turn the release (r) up in the amp section.

Thanks for the video. I'm curious if there is a way to spread multiple samples across the keyboard so each key triggers a different sample at its original pitch?
@quantaaudio7 жыл бұрын
Yes. This could be tedious to do however, depending on how many samples you're trying to load. Load the first sample, then in the upper left corner of Sample One you will see "Root", "Lo", and "Hi". Click in the "Root" field and press the key on your MIDI keyboard that you'd like for it to be set to. Then, click in the both the "Lo" and "Hi" fields and press the same key that you pressed for the root field. This then sets the root note for your sample to the particular keyboard key you are pressing and limits it's playback to that key, as well. Continue this process for the rest of your samples.

Thanks for the video, very useful !I still have one question : do you know if it is possible to play a sample without having to continuously hold the key ? Is there a SampleOne equivalent of the "toggle" function (found in the Impact instrument) ?
@quantaaudio7 жыл бұрын
The "ADSR" controls in the "Amp" section of Sample One are supposed to allow you to control how your sample plays back over time in relation to its audio level. Your "release" or the "R" fader is probably set all the way down...if it is, then raise it all the way up. You can raise the "D" and "S" faders as well. However, depending on how long your sample is, I find that if I increase these settings my samples will play longer, without needing to hold the key down on my controller, but they still always seem to fade out after a couple of seconds. Perhaps this is a bug, it shouldn't be doing this if we raise our "D,S,R" settings all the way up.

How do you simply rename or name a sample you just recorded from your own mic into sampleone ? I click on sample in the browser as its the only sample loaded and when the edit options pop up there is no rename or name sample
@quantaaudio3 жыл бұрын
If you're using the latest version of Sample One, there is a field where you can name the sample before you record, as shown here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oGWomIeJfcyrjpo

Is Sample One what you would use to get the same functionality as Simpler from Ableton?
@quantaaudio5 жыл бұрын
Yes, they are similar. Though Simpler I believe may have a few more features then the version of Sample One that is covered in this video. Studio Ones latest version, Sample One XT, I believe closes the gap.

Where do you get such a sense of entitlement from? Getting involved in music production requires lots of hard work, study, research, and practice. I'd recommend you make use of Google, manuals, and the copious amount of videos on KZbin to find all of the answers you're looking for. No one owes you anything. Best of luck.
