Thanks for all your great lessons and I wanted to tell you that since I started watching your videos, my English has improved tremendously and I am very proud of myself and now I feel more confident in meetings and I am not shy anymore; however, now I want to bring up my English to a different level and sounds a little more professional. I speak native English but unfortunately don't understand the lesson. Living with a native German, who doesn't really act like an English man, is making it harder for me to keep up with English. I'm talking in German half the time & he doesn't ask tag questions very often. Being bold & direct, and sometimes misunderstood bc of it more accurately describes Gustav. I think he's the nicest guy ever, but I don't always understand him. That's unfortunate but I'll never be sorry I met him and got to know him better.
@InteractiveEng6 жыл бұрын
Thanks for commenting & sharing your experiences Vicki. Now that I think about it, I wonder how other languages use tag questions if they use them at all. From my experience with Spanish, it seems most would say a statement and then ask "Yes" or "No" as confirmation. It definitely goes to show how distinctly unique languages can be. 😃

@erivaldonin6 жыл бұрын

That is the basic rule: Positive Statement, Negative Tag. However, when the statement is a command, then we use "will" or "would." For example, someone could say "Answer the phone, would you?" 👍
