I actually grimaced real hard when you did the overhand twohanded axe swing. Just imagine the amount of force that came with that. But as these forms show, never discount a good old fashioned jab to the face.

Truly a formidable weapon! It's great to see all the plays together! Using the halberd has been one of my fitness motivators since recovering from muscle injury 💪. Thank you for all your content!

It would be really interesting to see a comparison between these halberd techniques and say the techniques for a Naginta, which is a Japanese halberd and more often practiced by women.

Play number 6 has me a bit confused. It seems like it opens up your guard by a great deal and for a long time leaving you open for a quick thrust. Do you see play #6's flourish having any usage for attack? It seems like it's just meant for spacing unless that flourish is part of a feint.

Do you ever do any free-play sparring with the halberd and/or poleaxe or is the risk of concussions too high?
2 жыл бұрын
Sparring should be part of every training... with the halberd you should only be a little careful and choose your partners a little more carefully. With pole weapons you need more sense of responsibility than with the blade weapons. But to answer the question. Yes I do.

Very nice! Do you have any one-handed battle axe skill to teach? Maybe also combined with shield. Thank you.

Hi, this May Be the wrong Video but... I'm wondering, how practicable is it to have a Triangle shaped parry Bar? Like the sword would be an arrow. In my Imagination, the opponends sword is deflected and redirected away from "my" body and the opponend needs Power to stop his own sword or exposing himself if He swings through. Do you maybe have already a Video about parry Bars?

@@picrust314 It differs a lot but in my experience around 115% of your height is a good lenght :)

Long story short bassicly everything boiles down to hook the enemy's shaft with the beard of your halberd and strike. Sow the best defence against someon trained in meyer would be bait them into trying to hook your halberd, move to the inside and trust. Also if you don't want to kill bait them into trying to hook your halberd, move to the inside, grab your halberd midshaft, push there shaft over your head, place the shaft of your weapon infront of there neck and your leg behind there's and pull back. I never actuely relised how well a poleaxe is designed to deal with longer polearms, but seeying this I started relising how usefull it's small size but heavy weight would be.
