Essentially very early on, people wanted (to do with their spots or leopard pattern of their coats) a wild looking cat, problem was the Asian Leopards (their scientific sort of designated name is Bengalis is Latin, which is where their name of the breed comes from) got very kind of unkeepable if thats a term, they just weren't the best cats. Then this lady the least successful breeder of them, they'd managed to mate with another domestic cat and then yeah came the Bengal. With the Asian Leopards they're known for even swimming through water

They are the best! I have a mix between Bengal and a regular Norwegian house cat and she is an absolute hoot! It's strange at first because they are unusually curious, confident and attentive. They are also super energetic, easily bored and kinda destructive, so be prepared to live with something that resembles a five-year-old with ADHD :P

Just do some thorough research first to see if they are a good fit for you and your family and your dogs. Bengals are not like ordinary domestic cats. They are extraordinary!

We love our Bengal Ari, he is going on 7 yrs. old and is very high energy, he really keeps our 9 yr. old Savannah Tau active, there greatest trick is greeting into the kitchen cabinets.

I actually have a brown bengal. His name is Loki and he climbs everywhere! He’ll accidentally lock himself in the kitchen cabinets all of the time when my mom goes in there to get the plates, he’ll just leap out! He’s adorable and I don’t understand how I lived without him before.

I found my bengal didn’t need treats or clicker training for most tricks. Just the proper amount of eye contact, get them to associate the different tones of your voice (that’s mainly how cats communicate is different tones), and repetition.

I really want a Bengal cat cause I have cat allergies unfortunately but I love cats so much!!!And I know that bengals are one of the top hypoallergenic cats so I hope to get one soon!!(and they seem to have a unique pattern which makes these guys look even more special)

Yes the same rules will still apply- the Kisses trick may still be a bit harder but doable!

If you don’t mind a cat that is very vocal and meowing all the time telling you all about everything, and if you are home most of the time, because they do not like being left alone for long periods, and if you are prepared to spend a lot of time for this high energy cat, playing and engaging with them, then this cat is for you. Please do your research before getting a Bengal. Don’t just get one because they are pretty. Bengals are a wild animal and domestic cat hybrid and they retain a lot of their wildness. They are not like normal domestic cats and may not be the cuddly lap cat you dream of although they are loyal and affectionate. I have a rescue Bengal because he was too much for his previous owners who abandoned him and he was traumatized because they bond fiercely with their humans. He is well adjusted now but irresponsible owners are the cause of much unnecessary stress and pain for these wonderful creatures.

Nice to see she's grown! Can I ask, do you give dry food only? I know you mentioned you give on schedule - what times of the day do you give her meals and how long do you leave it out? My kitten is 13 weeks old and on a dry diet.. I really hope you could give some guidance. She doesn't seem very driven by food or any treats!!

We mix in wet food as well. The won’t have all of their teeth grown in yet so I would add wet food. And try different flavours if she doesn’t like it. We use tiki cat, it’s a high quality protein food that is great for bengals . Link in bio. We feed her 3 times a day. We could probably do a video on that too!

Yes I would try scheduling it. We feed Kona at 8am 3pm and 8pm. It will take a while for her to get adjusted. When you feed her. Leave it out until she eats, if she leaves some in it, then take it away until the next feeding time. Eventually she should pick up that she needs to finishe her food or Seles their won’t be more until the next feeding time

Can I just add.... Fresh, diced raw meat is amazing for their health, their bowel movements are well formed and never smell. My Bengal won’t touch canned food, but he gets ‘balanced’ dry food also. I find they get bored with the same food all the time, just like us.

We waited probably 4 -6 months before we gave her dry food and started my mixing it in with her wet food. We usually go with tiki cat!

kona has never bittin or scratched. only when playing. Just be sure not to over stimulate them aka dont over pet them :)

Hi I have 2 bengals cats they are walked 3 a day or more . They are very clever.they both switching off and on lights ,open doors open draws,Bess and Lucy both swim and if shower door left open they play in the shower spray.hopfully, I might breed them .as I have lots of interest in them . But I give it a good thought . they both good natured .but people should know after 12 months old .there true personality comes out ......FUN AND GAMES ...? 😜 BENGALS ARE EASY COMMUNICATION! 😜I have two cats, a Bengal mix and a Persian mix. I have tried for years to put my finger on why I am so much more crazy about the 3/4 Bengal mix: 'Sweetie.' I finally figured it out. It is so easy to communicate with Sweetie. She is so intelligent. It's maybe better than communicating with humans because humans can lie. With Sylvia, the Persian mix, I am often at a loss trying to figure out what she wants. But with Sweetie, things are always crystal clear. For example, when my precious Bengal wants something, she always goes to the place where that thing is kept and looks directly as me and meows until she gets it. She has a special meow for when she wants to play and so forth. She kisses me on command and boy! Can she read my mind! It's so easy to understand why people pay thousand$ of dollar$ for these great and beautiful animals.
