Damon this is a really well explained and visually appealing video. I feel inspired to speak to myself as if in ten years time! It will hopefully open up new vistas for me as l am right now ' stuck in a rut and can't see my way out! Thank you. Your videos are always insightful and thought provoking and are helping me enormously.

Wow ... going back to speaking to myself 10 years ago to explain how I messed up and derailed my life would be very tough. Yet, despite the chaos and carnage laying in the rearview a seed of hope sprouted. Battling a bit with the anxiousness of the thought of what my future self would say ...working hard to shape the reality of who I would love him to be.

Sounds similar to "continuous" or "imperfective" aspect used in linguistics. What I mean is, tte imperfective viewpoint presents a situation from within, disregarding its beginning or endpoint.

Thank you Damon for this video, I find this exercise very useful as all your videos that I have watched. Can I ask you about timeline technic, if fear was for 10 years from Monday to Saturday how we mention it on timeline session as one event or many events for 10 years?
@DamonCart
@DamonCart 10 ай бұрын
In Self-Concept we would consider 10 years as a period of time rather than an event. So much happens in a span of 10 years that we don't perceive it as one experience, rather we perceive it as a span of time with many experiences that happened within the 10 years.

Great video Damon. I like to play a little more in regards to connecting with my future self. Do we create a movie of what We Want in the future and connect with that? or Just connect with future Self and see what happens? I am looking forward to the Timeline Workshop to learn and explore more. Thank you very much.

This song was very interesting. My sticking point was the death of our son. I understand my beggining, but there is no end to it. And the beginning was not of my doing - he was killed by a grain lorry, backing onto him till he was bent over ebackwards and had his aorta torn out of his hear and kidney. So not of my making, though somehow I knew that if he made 20, he wud be safe. He was killed at 19yrs old, 4 months b4 hid 2pth birthday. So the beggining was I had an awareness from when he was born, that he would die young, that knowledge wud come n go, and at 18, I felt he cud be who he wanted to be, without my concern. So the beggining cud have several beginnings and several releases and an ending. But even his death was not the end of connection with him. Though now some 43 years on, the connection seems to be gone. How wud u interprrate what I am saying. Cheers, very interesting g s d thought provoking.❤

I'm very sorry to hear about your son. I have kids and if anything happened to either one of them, I would be devastated. You have my deepest sympathy. I don't understand, though, what your comment has to do with this video so I don't know how to interpret what you've written.

Thanks for this. Do you have a suggested sequence of learning nlp from your videos? Id like that so i can look and learn from all of them in order
@DamonCart
@DamonCart 3 жыл бұрын
You're welcome. There is no real order to them. I've made nearly 750 videos here so it's going to depend on what you want to learn, why you want to learn it, and the context in which you want to use NLP. In this video I explain the importance of learning NLP techniques in the context of a model: kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2WVpoSEmpeLo7c If you want to learn directly from me you can enroll in our Self-Concept training program. The reason I teach Steve Andreas' Self-Concept model primarily is because it's the most powerful NLP model and it gives context for most of all of the concepts, processes, and techniques found in NLP.

It’s interesting, but I don’t understand how it’s useful to change where you put the beginning and end of an experience.
@DamonCart
@DamonCart 2 жыл бұрын
Just doing it as an exploration will wake your mind up to how you can change the meaning you make of your experiences. Some experiences you can explore changing the structure and nothing significant will come from it except for the value of exploration. However, sometimes you will recover valuable information that you had overlooked. For example, many people represent their experiences as a single moment like the moment they crossed the finish line of a marathon or the moment they achieved something. When you open that representation of a moment to an hour or two hours, you're allowing in a lot more information. It often creates a richer and more meaningful experience.

What exactly did I sell in this video? If you can't appreciate free information, go somewhere else. I am not shy about the fact that this is a business. Never have been. Do you go to your job everyday and work for free? Do you walk up to the free food demos in grocery stores and scold them for not giving you the entire meal for free?
