This is a very nice way of making holes in objects I haven't seen before, but the problem is that it creates N-gons. N-gons can work if your only working in blender, but if you bring in any other software to the workflow its an issue. Probably a bad habit to teach, but I'd be curious to see if you have another quick method for hole making without making faces with more than four vertexs

Probably with a bit more of geometry and Looptools, you can make circles while keeping quads only. I'd use that instead.

You can use looptools to convert edges into a circle, and then extrude them in to make holes, these will always be quads as long as you have enough edge loops.

Loop tools в помощь,самый быстрый способ и сетка под сабдив с 4 угольниками,а то что он показывает это чушь,которая работает только на плоскости,пусть покажет тот же способ на сфере и тогда шейдинг ему скажет привет,также можно и его способом но тогда надо использовать модификатор шринкврап и донор для сглаживания либо модификатор дата трансфер и выделять группу вершин для восстановления шейдинга,тоже самое что он показывает и не только круг а любую форму и даже текст,можно сделать с помощью инструмента knife project,и тока на плоскости и будут там n угольники тоже,но потом можно почистить сетку,также можно булином это сделать под сабдивижн используя Лоу Поли куб и Лоу Поли круг,а потом сгладить,либо можно уже после сабдивижн булином сделать отверстие и даже добавить фаску,но придется применить сабдивижн и почистить немного сетку,если нужны 4 угольники,если не нужны то также можно использовать шринкврап или дата трансфер для восстановления шейдинга

Ikr, a bevel with 5 segments, plus subdiv on top, that seems overkill

You can remove the ngons and do a retopo. Also you can trianglete your mesh witch will happen at some point anyway. Or you could triangulate your mesh strategically so you can convert them into squads.

I really thought the bolean modifier is going to be involved in it but this method is way better bcuz it doesn't destroy your mesh

It is not ideal if you don't adjust your topology to get rid of the N-gons.

@@GLORIA.CHOI. use boleans instead, they're non destructive and will save you lots of work + give you the ability to change things whenever you want without any remodelling
