When using Gyrocopters, remember to use Shift+1 to drop the bombs, meaning you can micro them more easily. Works for any ability on the left side, Ctrl+X works for spells.

It obviously depends on the army comp, but imo it’s usually better to simply take out their missile units with the gyros early on. I generally take 4 regular gyros and 1 trollhammer per army. I bait flying units away from the missile units and kill them, then take out the missile units, then the lord, then every other single entity, and the armies usually meet right around then. Obviously prioritizing only large units with the trollhammer.

A few things i do differently in my own battles is focus fire. And iron drakes first depending on who you're fighting. In fact i forgo any income or basic buildings just to get a gyro iron drake formation going. Also yes having 5 different copters going 5 different directions is all well and good. But 5 focus firing a single unit in my opinion is WAY better. At least starting off. Why? Because instead of running from the archers all game if you take them out first (Really easily, again depending on the army but this early in game you're going to be taking out MULTIPLE models each burst) And then that leaves you fully free to engage anything else at will. When fighting skrag i like to focus him first to get the moral losses in and then it makes breaking his armies a lot easier. And all while my 3 badly damaged units are off in a bush watching a 20 stack of ogres try to figure out what is going on. Do not under estimate the ability to fully remove specific units instead of chipping away at multiple and doing arguably nothing. Oh and iron drakes are just funny period. Hide em in a treeline. Send em down city streets. Onto city walls even when attacking. Undead armies are the funniest stuff and so are greenskins to say nothing of the sheer amount of toasted rats you'll be racking up when you hit that 5 second reload speed.

New warhammer player. I was really hurting myself by not charging enemy middle troops. I was loosing a lot of my dwarfs to the continues middle fire. Yeah, don’t expect your mainline dwarfs to actually chase them down. But once part of the enemy line has broken, send one or two units to chase missiles. My hammers have had good luck of chasing them down tbh

This is why i just auto resolve vs dwarf air force spam. Just a broken mess of small erratically moving spread out flying entities able to dish out well over their cost in damage before an entire army of missile units can do anything to them. Add to that airships which can outrun dragons and it goes from a battle into an exercise in frustration. Someone on CA team loves dwarfs and doesn't give a 💩 about balance.

I never used the slayer pirates, are they even worth it? Typically just use alot of cannons with grape shot and a few shotgunners and gg🤣

they're ok but kinda meh. like most hybrids if you have 2 of them you'd be better having 1 ranged and 1 melee that are specialised instead. 1 quarrellers with some slayers in front are better I think.

Select a unit/units and while holding alt you can move them in the same position they are in. This allows for precision bombing, cause sometimes you can't click to move gyro-units over the enemy unit(no space to click) and alt-moving allows you to do it.

Hold ALT + drag with left mouse - It lets you move units in a formation. For example you can set up your army before a battle then hold ALT and left mouse drag to move your army all together into a new position. If you hold CTRL at the same time, you can then use the left mouse drag to rotate the formation. Takes a bit of practice but its one of the most important control mechanics you can learn.

I'd go for flamer build rather than chopper for early game, lots more damage, lot cheaper to be effective

@@Grauer33 just for extra clarity: hold Alt then left-click-and-hold on your unit, as long as you keep left click held down you can let go of the Alt key now; you should be able to see the formation footprint under your cursor, and you can drag it anywhere on the battlefield, wherever you "release" the click that's where the unit will walk to... but there is one more trick: while holding the left click down and moving the footprint, you can also hold the Ctrl key and then the footprint will freeze in place and moving the mouse will change the direction the unit will face; this allows you to very precisely position any unit without an attack order

The alt-move thing is one of those tricks the game never really tries to tell you is a thing in the first place, but it's pretty simple once you learn it and it can really change how you play the game and position your units (ESPECIALLY for any flying units with "drop bomb" type abilities haha)

it works up until the enemy has nothing but skirmish type units in their armies or any amount of flying units that arent aggrod. it will also fail miserably in very hard combat difficulty often because of the priority targeting and other AI behavior.

I think what he meant by the title of this video was stop making the mistakes HE makes in this video, lol. Having your gyro's spaz out at all times, in all directions, while laying down ineffective fire, missing bombing opportunities, etc, etc is a good way to get a horrible battle like the one he showcases. 5 gyro's focus firing will delete a ranged unit VERY quickly.....focus your gyro's on their ranged units, erase them, and then EFFECTIVELY bomb their blobbed units when there is nothing left on the map that can even fire back. He toys with the ranged units and takes massive damage while allowing them to remain on the battlefield and even put volley's into his line while he is rushing them all over the place....not effective whatsoever. Battlesey....you seem like a nice guy, but you really should do a bit of research on how to effectively use a unit before making a video trying to tell other people how to use them.
