Deanne! First off, I love you. You don't know me, but you have instructed, encouraged, and inspired my entire hoop journey from day one. I don't known where I'd be without you! Question: WHY do I have soooo much trouble hooping in my opposite current?! I'm right handed, counterclockwise hooper by nature. I have spent a lot of time attempting to practice clockwise hooping and I still can't seem to do it at all. My whole body turns at an angle and I just can't seem to get it. Any ideas?

I've been frustrated at trying to get my hoop off the body and still sticking with it but this has truly been a blessing : ). My poor hoop has suffered collateral damage (torn tape, scrapes, smudges) from dropping it so much, LOL. But that means it is well loved, right?

is there a specific type of hula hoop I should get? i've been practicing with a cheap hula hoop from the dollar store but I'm ready to level up!! There are a couple on amazon for $30...wasn't sure if there is any specific type you recommend?

Mine is made of wood lol. But since I hv been playing since I was 6 with wooden ones I am used to it. But the ones that sre not that heavy and not that light are recommended I guess. The heavy ones may leave bruises if not careful.

+Samara I buy hula hoops from someone called Bestwina on Ebay from Hooping4Life. For a beginner, I think the bigger it is, the better. Small hoops tend to fall off quicker. A good sized adult one is 40. Its pretty big but just right for an adult I think.

jojo jojo In the beginning you will likely want to choose an adult size hoop that measures from the floor up to your belly beyond or beyond. If the hoop is too small you will find on body hooping very challenging.
