I have to say from personal experience when I finally made the switch to trying to build strength vs trying to lose weight it was a complete mindset shift. I started loving my body for how strong it was and what it was capable of. I also started living like my “ideal self”. My ideal self worked out, stretched most days, went on walks. I also had more intelectual goals like reading more and learning Spanish. Eventually I started to slowly increase food without tracking, focusing more on protein intake than anything else. After several months of this I recently decided I was in a healthy place mentally to start tracking my food to be more intentional with my goals. I now eat more food than I’ve ever eaten, yet look the best I’ve ever looked. I still want to cut eventually, but taking this route was definitely soul healing for me.

Yessssd 💃🏼🙌🏻😍 I love this so much! It truly is such a profound shift and definitely translates to other aspects of life outside of fitness, like you experienced!

This was a lovely video. I would love to see my body at its peak esthetic, but my main goal is to help it heal. I want to give it nutrients to literally heal wounds and to give me energy to grow muscles and stamina to keep up with my kids. It feels silly, but ill write three positive things about myself:1. I preserve through hardships. 2. I seek opportunities to grow. 3. I am able to criticize myself without those criticisms clouding out the positive attributes I possess.

I think those are some fantastic goals! And there’s nothing wrong with also wanting to look your best - as long as it’s not coming from a place of self-hate 🥰

Great video❤ To respond the the 3 things I love about myself 1. I leave space for others to be exactly as they are without judgement 2. I leave space for myself to go through highs and lows and not judge myself for it. I accept that’s just part of being human. 3. That I can find things to appreciate about my surroundings easily, which leads to expressions of awe or appreciation. ❤

My mom passed away just a few weeks ago and I believe a legacy she’s left behind for myself, and my two sisters is to not spend 80 years of your life, hating your body. She never realize how beautiful she was, and always struggled with her weight, and after debilitating stroke, she spent the past 4 1/2 years in a wheelchair. Today I’m going to remind myself that my body is strong enough to walk on its own, my body can repair itself, and my body takes care of me every day. Switching subject, so I don’t tear up, I would love to know what software you’re using to edit your videos. I love all of the graphics, swishing, sound effects, etc. I use my KZbin channel as a library videos for my career and business coaching clients but I know I could do better. Lol. Thank you for all the wonderful content. I’ve only discovered you this weekend, and have probably already binged-watched most of your videos, including the 3-day water, fast videos. I did my first 3-day water fast this year and loved it.

I think something that's important to remember, when it comes to looking at your body. Aesthetically is that even people who are anorexically skinny still don't like how they look... So it's not about how you look. It should be about how you feel. No matter how thin you get, that doesn't guarantee that you will like yourSELF.

🙋♀️ Would listen to the podcast, especially because you love to go deep on a topic. I would want your Mom to guest star occasionally and discuss how she and your Dad approached raising you guys and supported you to become the amazing, healthy person you are. #MamaNerdyFanClub

It's insane, how health and fitness isn't a priority, for so many people. Luckily, there are people like you who can possibly change just one person's life. Hope you're doing well.
@MissFitAndNerdy6 ай бұрын
Honestly, as much as I value it and personally believe almost people would benefit from valuing it too, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with consciously choosing to value other things more. As long as you know what you’re choosing and what you’re sacrificing and that decision is made with intent, it’s up to you! No matter what you choose to value, you’re sacrificing something else. I’m not gonna judge anyone for not sharing my values

Love your analogy of intuitive eating, it's not just permission to eat so the garbage food...
@MissFitAndNerdy6 ай бұрын
Yeah honestly as necessary as the current definition of “intuitive eating” is (ie. Eating impulsively and not worrying about it) for some people and helping them heal from restrictive eating, I think it does a huge disservice to everyone else who isn’t coming from that same background. I wish they had used a different term because idk what else to call my version of intuitive eating lol

This video made me cry a little bit, hearing you talk about accepting the parts of yourself that drive people pleasing tendencies because they have your best interests at heart, I needed to hear that. Things I love about myself: 1. I love how expressive/free I feel dancing and that people are pleased by seeing me dance or dancing with me. 2. I love that I'm curious and enjoy learning about all sorts of things including other people's stories. 3. I love that I care about the planet including all the people on it.

This is the first time me commenting on any videos I think ❤️ Genuinely love all the scientific/self care videos. Recently having some problems with sleep and is doing everything that I can do to make it better (night routine, avoid screen, getting sunlight and supplements and so on.) Every time searching the internet about sleep, it’s almost like receiving tons of threats about how not sleeping will slowly kill you and all your workout progress. Which makes the stress even worse. I would love to here your insight on taking things slowly, be gentle to yourself on things we can’t control and how not to stress about not optimizing everything in life 🙏 thank you so much ~
