Hi, first of all, thanks for the content! Especially for Sylvaneth, they deserve more love! :) Now for the Topic: you got the Battleshock the wrong way. In your scenario the higher the bravery is, the more models are likely to flee. Battleshock works this way: Roll 1D6 Add the number of slain models Compare the two numbers: Higher than bravery - more models will flee Lower than bravery - Successful Battleshock / no more models will flee example: 5 clanrats die your roll 4 5+4 = 9 bravery is 4 4-9 = -5 models

Gotcha, Thank you for correcting me! Battleshock always confused me lol. And I'm glad you are liking the content. I will try to put out more stuff for sylvaneth in the future.

Thanks @Ma SCH for the clarification, because I thought it weird that with a higher bravery number more units would flee. Was going to ask the question, but your explanation cleared it up. So on bravery d6 rolls, your looking to roll low, so that the roll + slain models = lower number resulting in fewer models fleeing. Correct?

@@terryramsey5979 Yep with battleshock the best roll is a 1 and the worst roll is a 6

My wife and I just decided to get into AoS about a week ago. I've played WH40K and Armada a few times but I always had to use other people's Armies/fleets and had the owners help me limp through the games. This has been so helpful to understanding the basics. We played our first game a few days ago and after watching this we realized how bad we were messing up.

I’m glad I could help you and your wife better understand the rules!! So Casting Value is what you need to roll (equal to or greater) for a spell go successfully be cast. So to do a casting roll you roll 2D6 and if the result is greater to or equal the casting value your spell goes off. Some units have innate +s to cast so just keep that in mind. Additionally your opposition can try to unbind your spell in which one of their wizards needs to roll greater than whatever you rolled for your casting roll. For the specific spell you mentioned if you roll 7+ on 2D6 then you can target an enemy unit within the range of the spell to deal dmg to it. Also there is “perils of the warp” in AoS 3.0, so if you roll snake eyes or double 1s then your wizard takes D3 Mortal wounds. Hope this clears things up. If you have any more questions feel free to ask I tend to reply fairly quickly

Glad it was helpful! Is there a specific faction you are trying to learn? I could probably do a video for you?

@@WargroveofWoe Actually you already have a few. I love the Sylvaneth army and so I’ve really enjoyed your content on them. My partner is interested in the Skaven and as started building them.

Hi, I believe you have made a mistake with the Bravery test. The Battleshock Test states you roll a dice and add the number of models in the unit that were slain in that turn to the roll. If the battleshock roll is greater than the unit's bravery stat then you remove a unit for each point by which your roll exceeds the bravery stat. In this case if you rolled a 6, 6 +5 slain units = 11, 11 -4 bravery = 7 rats fleeing the battlefield not 3.

It's really funny to me to compare what's super common or good and what's rare or bad in 40k vs AoS, but at least Battleshock / Morale are unreliable in both lol.
