How is it better? Everything I have heard in this video is just as bad as it was at the start. Like do we have in any way a finite world with people and cultures behind the factions who actually do things and believe in things? Everything I am seeing here just feels like more of the shallow, childish and uninspired drivel that tries to substitute grand scale and "epicness" for any real substance. After claiming The All Points (a sort of gateway between all realms with huge gateways that can move entire armies through) he literally set up a trophy collection of the planets he's destroyed just hanging in orbit of the now called Eight Points for all to be reminded who the Harbinger of the apocalypse really is. And since ALOT of fans want to see End Times content in TW:W, (Stormfiends are HEAVILY requested to be in the game) I see nothing wrong with a game revolving around AOS. Plus, AOS is can still use the close-quarters medieval-styled strategy seeing that it is a sequel (Reboot) to WFB. Plus it will give more time and content for GW's upcoming Old World when it does releases. AOS can be focused, giving more time for GW to work on Old World. Thoughts on this?

Meanwhile the Lizar- I mean Seraphon have only gotten 1 new model since AoS started with the core units (Saurus, Skinks, Kroxigors) being the same models since 2003 (the very first time I saw them back in 6th edition. I'm also not a fan of all the named Characters for them being only Slann, especially with GW continuing to sell their models as generic: "Oldblood on Carnosaur, Sunblood, Starseer". If you're going to use their models, at least give them their names GW.

So does this take place after the end times? Or is this it’s own thing like 40k?

Takes place after the end times.

@@romanvexillum1991honestly I think it would be better off as it’s own thing or for GW to retcon things to where the end times caused two parallel worlds. One where chaos won that resulted in AoS and the otheb where chaos got it’s ass through kicked

Y’all are misinformed if you think AOS is any less of a setting than WHFB and 40k. The literal same writers you know and love have been putting out amazing novels on the setting. The setting itself is very epic and deep, broken realms is a masterpiece of storytelling. Also the Soulbound RPG has expanded greatly on Age of Sigmar. I have read many 40k, HH and WHFB novels. I can honestly tell you that AOS is just as good if not more grand and awe inspiring

I quit when they blew up Warhammer Fantasy so I never learned about any of the lore of AoS...I have to say, I'm glad I didn't bother. What a ridiculous half baked mess that comes across like an indi dev tryhard video game arpg plot. P.S. Nothing against you bud but the Old World was far superior as a fantasy setting to the crap messy lore of AoS.

Thanks for the video, I'm new to AOS and have recently gotten into it through soulbound RPG, after playing WFRP for years and I have a question about physicality of people and other races living in particular realms. in wfrp being exposed to winds of magic for a lot of time brought traits kinda similar to mutations, e.g. druids could grow leaves from hair and wood elves sometimes were depicted with horns. is it the dame in AOS? do people from ghyran grow leaves or have a bit greenish tint to their skin? Could duardin living in ghur grow tusks? I'd appreciate an answer from someone who understands AOS better a lot, thanks in advance
@Cezili Жыл бұрын
Significantly delayed response but here it goes: Yesn't. The Realms influence the people born in them by the aspects of the dominant Wind of Magic present there. Such as in Aqshy (Fire), people are more aggressive, short-tempered, industrious and passionate. However, usually beyond these traits, which manifest on a spectrum of intensity, it doesn't go much further. Human Wizards however, since they're directly channeling the Winds of the Realms still, do suffer the same "mutations" you mentioned before, arguably MORE SO now as there's a lot more ambient Magic available than was in the Old World. At the "Realm's Edge", where the Winds grow intense to the point that they're all-encompassing of reality, however, even normal Humans, Elves, Dwarfs and even Gods start suffering effects from that given Wind, unless they're already associated with it, like Alarielle to Ghyran (Life).

Cool video man, but try as I might, I can't get into this setting as much as 40k or Fantasy. It's like Greek mythology. It kinda makes sense, but in a super abstract and cerebral way. Hopefully future lore videos help flesh it out and give it some meat. And I hear the tabletop is fun at least 🤙 Edit: Can Stormcast Eternals die? And if not, what are the stakes for the forces of order? Not trying to be shitty, genuine question. Is it just like, don't let x village burn, or is there some bigger threat that wasn't covered in this video?
@Willie50003 жыл бұрын
Stormcast die and basically res pawn in Azyr, but each time they do so a little more of them dies. Also the rest of the order forces are still mortal.

A friend got one of the AoS starter sets and we are going to give it a go. Have only every played the total war series so I know nothing about table top. What gets me about AoS is the mini designs. They seem a lot more fake to me (if that makes sense. I just love the aesthetic of fantasy. Seemed more real, believable if you will which make sense given how much inspiration they took from irl history. AoS feels more….cartoonish? Not sure how I feel about this space-fantasy-esc crossover? I dunno. Maybe I’ll get used to it.
@ianbailey42133 жыл бұрын
It's definitely more of a mythic/ high fantasy style, and I believe that's intentional. AoS is deriving a lot of it's style from greco-roman and classical/ancient art/armor/archtecture, which often go for an idolized form rather than a realistic one.
