I see what you did with the thumbnail, using a character named after the German composer, using a mercedes which is a german brand, in front of the mercedes benz arena. Clever. This is honestly my second favourite track in the game now, I find it really fun to play, every section feels incredibly unique, I love car tracks that make me have to think how to avoid them as I'm racing, I just really love it and the music's a bop too. It has it's flaws imo, the whomps are jank as _heck_, the jankiness even puts Ninja Hideaway to shame, and I'm not a fan of the bridge section at the end of section 1, and that blind off road cut that feels like RNG, but imo the posatives outweigh the negatives and I just adore playing on this track due to it.

Yeah, I'm getting tired of the novelty of changing tracks now, maple treeway was fun because I could learn it and zone out. I like your idea of showing the current track in a different colour on the mini map, still takes concentration to look at it, so maintains tier separation

OK, first off.. Thanks for all the videos! They have helped me beat the staff ghosts on every level up to the new release, of which I have 3, including this one, thank you sir! While my 51 yr old reflexes don't allow for all the 'right hop into a left drift' mini turbo BS, your input is invaluable. While I understand that gamers have a way with it, HOW THE HELL DID YOU COME UP WITH....'do 4 hops across the grass then shroom the rest of the way'? I would have never thought of this. While it took a lot of tries to get it right, the first time that I was actually able to successfully shroom with a slide, I beat the staff ghost by a whopping .17 seconds! Anyways.... I really like the way you do your videos that cater to different skill levels. Hats off to you sir!
@Bayesic

Thanks for that, I put a lot of effort into trying to make sure that no matter what your skill level you can get something useful out if my videos! I wish I could take credit for the 4 hop strategy haha but I just watched world record videos to see what they did and tried to replicate it as best I could Thanks again though, comments like this 100% help keep me motivated to keep creating content!

I really want to thank you for your help. The one thing that gave me a lot of trouble was the big white bus in section 3 because every time I attempt to beat the 150cc staff ghost, I run into it, and I pause and restart the time trial over and over again. I used Koopa Troopa with the Biddybuggy, Azure Roller Tires, and the Paper Glider.

When Berlin Byways was new, it was highly confusing for me to learn. I just left a comment on your Rome Avanti video calling out Berlin as being a jank course to learn, which is why I immediately followed up by watching this video. My comment also called out L.A. (in multiple ways) for also being a jank course to learn, and that is going to be the next video on my to-watch list (and I'll have probably already watched it by the time anyone reads this comment). Of course, we got Berlin in Wave 3, L.A. in Wave 5, and Rome in Wave 6, so Berlin is definitely the course on which I'm most comfortable out of these 3... but not by much in comparison to Rome, and the fact that I'm more comfortable with Rome than I am with L.A. speaks volumes about the course design for Rome and L.A., but now I'm getting sidetracked by not talking about Berlin when the video is about Berlin.

I love this course. It’s challenging, but not boringly so. I personally never had an issue finding the route, but that may be because I play Tour regularly and had figured this would be the route before Wave 3 released. Not to mention, this and the Tour version are my favorite music pieces in the entire series.

Here's a really weird fact about this track that you're not gonna believe: this is the only track in the entire Mario Kart series that has Whomps in it. You'd think Whomps would be a more common obstacle in Mario Kart, considering how much of an iconic piece of the Mario franchise they've been since Super Mario 64, and how Thwomps have been a common obstacle in every Mario Kart game, but no, for some reason Whomps only appear in Berlin Byways.

this is the track that I practiced the most in TT when the DLC game out, i hated it at first, it felt very confusing, but as soon as i jumped online i dominated the track, i get top 3 every time, it is my most consistent track along with Ninja Hidaway which i did practiced in TT a lot too. Practice makes perfect.

I despise these new tracks online because they're just so confusing and hard to read. The non tour maps feels like you can learn them by just playing online. Many of the city tracks I NEED to time trial in order to learn properly. It's not a bad track but it sure as heck is poorly designed. And what's with the "wide street just drive straight" maps that's been in the DLC? The fun part about mario kart is not driving in a straight line it's drifting, and I sure as heck am not going to snake drift online. Anyway enough of that rant. Good and helpful video as always, made this track way less painful and am starting to like it a bit more now

After wave 6 and you get done making all the strat videos, have you ever thought about going back and redoing some of the older tracks with your later video layouts or possibly that you found a faster line somewhere? Love all the videos, just curious 😅
@Bayesic
@Bayesic 10 ай бұрын
I thought about it but there are quite a few other videos I still wanna make. The other thing is that like if I redid all the ones that need redoing it’d probably be another 16 videos at least and honestly the interest in this series seems to be pretty low at this point, so the motivation to redo them is kinda low as well lol

Can you make a video about hopping? I think it would be a good tutorial - knowing when to hop/counter hop, chaining into drifts, the timing of it, etc. I get all the strats except this. Sometimes I feel like I either hop the wrong way before a drift or the timing is off. Thank you!

I do enjoy Berlin Byways in general but I've also found it frustrating, not just here but on other Tour city tracks, how poorly the correct path is marked. In most cases Inky is an inconvenience at most, but I find that whenever I end up doing a Tour city track online, getting Inky'd is the death of me because the next turn isn't very obvious

This is my favorite course in Wave 3, it changes every lap like London Loop but is slightly more interesting to me. (And both are my favorite new songs from Tour!) Right after release I played both city tracks for about 30 minutes to memorize the layouts, and it worked, I've almost never gotten lost since then. With the lap changing tracks they could at least highlight which lap you're on on the map, so you can still see people a lap ahead or behind. I don't like traffic tracks in general but at least they're spread out on this track. However taking the shortcut at the end of Lap 2 and 3 is so hard on 200cc trying to dodge the cars around a blind corner...

The first time I time trialed this track I was hella confused and the one complaint I have about this track is there’s way too many sharp turns
@Bayesic
@Bayesic Жыл бұрын
Yeah I think that’s what it is for me too. It’s not so much that the track itself is confusing it’s just that it has these really sharp turns that don’t really exist on many other tracks, and there’s like walls that obscure what’s happening next so it’s really easy to get turned around
@noobontherun
@noobontherun Жыл бұрын
In my mind, a good Mario Kart course has a natural visual flow, letting you know which way to turn simply based on the design and layout of the track and background near turns. I think London Loop and Berlin Byways failed horribly at these visual indicators, which is a shame considering how pretty these courses are otherwise. It's especially strange when you consider that these issues are rare or non-existent in earlier changing-city courses like Sydney Sprint and New York Minute. I think it has to do with how busy and close the background landmarks are to the track, among other things.
@Bayesic
@Bayesic Жыл бұрын
That’s a good point. I don’t think I typically got messed up on Paris, New York, or Sydney, so I did have a bit of problems with Tokyo blur if I’m being honest lol

hi, i was wondering if there is a big difference between Waluigi and Gold Mario/Peach in competitive games. There hit boxes are smaller than dk or Roy!? I mean by that : this is quiet borring to see only Waluigi and Wild Wiggler… btw your video of time trials are great keep on going!

They're very close. Gold Mario/PGP are slightly slower, but have maximum weight and slightly better handling. The character models themselves don't have hitboxes I think, but Gold Mario/PGP's vehicle size is smaller than Waluigi's. This makes it easier to squeeze through tight spaces, but a little harder to collect coins.
