This is a great video because you clearly see (if you watch closely) the string muting of the low E string by putting the tip of your left index finger next to it. One thing that I wish guys doing video instruction would include is talking about string muting.

yes, right, Johnny never played power chords, only bar chords (almost full, 5 strings at least), only downstrokes. AND big work with palm mute, this would require a full lesson!

I know it's a lot easier to use power chords, which is fine, whatever floats your boat. However the correct way is with major barre chords.

+Gustavo Fring u are correct sir....johnny ramone plays the full barre chord versions of those chords....much more difficult but gives u a way bigger and amazing sound. it still sounds cool with power chords tho.....

Good tutorial...i checked this out to see/hear your tone and strumming technique...most gtrists don't realize their tone actually comes from from their strumming/picking technique...but w/all that said, if you need a tutorial on how to play ramones songs...then you should prolly give up guitar, lol.

I think you're a great player but do your research Johnny never played power chords only bar chords never strummed up and down only down stroke you can play the song that way but the real way down bar chords
