I'm 59 and have wanted to take voice and piano lessons since I was 8. My mother was not supportive of that at all. I have sung when I'm alone my entire life and have probably been doing it wrong all these years. I wish the internet had been around back then. But better late than never. I hope to improve so I can sing karaoke with confidence. Right now, I have no confidence and am too unsure of myself to even try to sing in front of other people. I'm hoping that will change. Thank you for your guidance.

I always hate it when people say that you will never be good at this or that, no matter how hard you try! It's like they think they had it lucky when they were conceived into this world and others have it bad!

Gosh, you are so upbeat and positive! I feel so excited about learning! ❤️ I did the beginner lesson on opening the throat and now I will try to practice 10 minutes every day this week before I move to finding the singing voice because I think I still need to work on that part for a while longer. I'm so used to be quiet, I found I'm just afraid to let the voice come out cause of how off it would sound but I believe I will overcome this! Thank you for your video!

Hello! I just wanted to say you remind me of my grandma. she used to sing and she's also part of the choir in our church. I used to be amazed every time she sings. I wanted to be like her! I liked listening to her and even now. and she knew that and she tried her best to teach me how to sing but sadly before we even make it past our 2nd day of practice she got into an accident. and even in her death bed. she said I'll be a great singer. but I feel like I disappointed her I don't even know the basics. I can't find my head voice and it feels like every time I sing I only used my chest voice and if I try to go even higher my voice cracks and people used to point out my big Adam's apple so I thought I could sing but having big Adam's apple changed nothing. I like the way you teach not only because you remind me of her. but you also thought a lot of people. but I think I don't have any future for singing. I watched some of your videos already. I tried but I really just can't. but if ever I get the motivation to try to again. I'll be back here in your channel. xoxo

I never thought that I could sing, but some people say to me that I have a nice voice when I am singing with my middle/normal voice except I am kind of trying lol. I decided since my girlfriend likes to sing I'd like to sing with her so I'm challenging myself by learning from your beginner videos starting tonight. You are a great speaker and from what I can see a very good teacher. I wish could get private lessons from you but I'm disabled and limited budget, your free youtube videos should be enough I think. Thanks for putting these out there and taking the time to do so. It's time to take the challenge without her knowing so I can surprise her in a year I guess lol.

Just let your voice out freely Work out singing as an athletic event a full bodied activity posture breathing breath support and producing a nice clear and ringing tone 6 days a week 10 minutes a day on vocal exercises Shorter more frequent practice sessions Practicing every day builds good habits and muscle memory Do not do random exercises that have nothing to do with the individual needs of your voice Every voice is different Every voice needs something different After you do your exercises then you must apply it to your song if you’re not able to do that the exercises aren’t doing you any food because we all want to have fun and sing songs First making the song into a exercise Don’t take shortcuts in your training Don’t compare your voice to others every voice is unique and develop at its own rate singing is a life journey

Do you know what helps a sore throat. I have to practice on Monday but my throat is all sore.
@Victoria-Victorious4 жыл бұрын
A sore throat can be caused by many things like a cold (virus), allergies, or singing or speaking with strain. The only advice I can give you is to rest your voice, including speaking, and drink plenty of fluids like warm herbal tea to soothe the throat. Don't sing if your throat is sore.

Does the voice sound different while singing high pitch than what it sounds when we are singing in head voice ??? Caz it does I think in my case
@Victoria-Victorious4 жыл бұрын
It sounds like you are referring to breathy falsetto. Breathy falsetto sounds different than reinforced falsetto (head voice). Without hearing you, I am guessing that you are probably disconnecting from your support so the vocal folds aren't closing properly.

Hello Victoria
@Victoria-Victorious3 жыл бұрын
While singing can certainly improve your speaking, if you are really bothered by your speaking voice, I would see a speech pathologist. Meanwhile, you could try going from humming to speech, maintaining a neutral position of the larynx.

I am a big fan. Can you offer some advice on when enough practice is enough -in a particular practice session? Particularly interested in your comments about working -or more accurately developing- my upper register with the head voice exercises you gave several videos ago. I do not want to ever stop learning or trying to improve but that is a long term view as opposed to what I do on an individual day. Advice? Please continue the videos. They are very good.
@Victoria-Victorious4 жыл бұрын
The quality of your practice is far more important that the length. That being said, If you are not experiencing fatigue, keep practicing, but do try to keep up the consistency of practicing on most days of the week for best results. 30 min, 6 days a week of practicing correctly would be great, more if you can and want to, and 10 min on busy days! Make sure that you apply to your songs and are having fun.

While listening to other artists, singing with them my voice sounds different from what it sounds when its just me singing ..any reason for that ? Also can i learn whistle notes like Ariana Grande? My voice sometimes sounds hoarse while singing high notes why does that happen ?
@Victoria-Victorious4 жыл бұрын
You probably are unconsciously copying them and their style. This is not a bad thing but could explain why your voice sounds different than when you sing by yourself. I would DEFINITELY stay away from learning whistle notes if you have trouble with high notes. Whistle is an advanced technique. Hoarseness is a red flag. Be careful. You are likely going into the reach and squeeze. I have lots of videos on how to sing high and also relieve throat tension.
@morewithdee4 жыл бұрын
