Do you have a series perhaps of scales recordings of scale so we can practice our notes?
@davidwalsh9442 жыл бұрын
I really admire your enthusiasm. Reminds me of the physical and occupational therapists I've met. Always focusing not on what isn't going well but both what is going well and what can be done to improve things. Just what a student needs. Also like your response to those who may not like the sound of their voice. Maria Callas is reported to have not liked her sound -her timbre as opposed to her singing-on first hearing a recording. Bjoerling wanted to sing like Caruso and Corelli wanted to be lyric. Piece of advice that appeals to me: "sing with your own voice." Best you can learn to do but your voice. Like to think there's room for all of us.

I luv the information. Never knew this before, but oddly enough I karaoke a little, and on the drive there I usually do AHHH drills to stretch my vocals. I just need to do a LOT of exercising my vocals, theyve gotten worse the last year. QUESTION: the uhhs and Mums, how long daily should average person do them for? 10--20-30mins?
@Victoria-Victorious Жыл бұрын
Every voice is different. 15-20 minutes of exercises is reasonable. Can be less or more, depending on the voice and how it reacts.

Dear Victoria, do you have a lesson on voice fatigue (how to recognize it correctly, improve strength, etc.) for beginners? I notice the back of my throat gets very itchy and my vocal chords ache after doing these very basic voice exercises in this video. Does that go away with practice?
@Victoria-Victorious2 жыл бұрын
Without hearing you, I am guessing that it is irritation. Maybe you practiced too long or overdid it. Yes, I have videos on vocal fatigue and throat tension. Vocal Fatigue Singing - GETTING TIRED FROM SINGING? kzbin.info/www/bejne/fnqlaoGuZ9x4f6c Also, see my playlist on Throat Tension. Start slowly, following the videos in my Beginner Playlist. Your throat should not hurt when singing. Always stop if it does. Lastly, you must start in the easy part of your voice, usually lower and middle range for most singers. Don't tackle high notes yet.
@zu89112 жыл бұрын
Coach, Can you make a social media account where in we can upload our voice practice and warm up (or maybe singing too??), so that you or the other who's already ahead in singing can evaluate them? hehehe If.. that would be alright? ( ^-^' ) I really love the way you teach, because we learn so much information on how to take care our voice and how to improve them step by step, you are the only vocal coach that I found, that gives the best and wonderful source of information about aiming to become a great singer (T - T ).

Hi Victoria.Ive been watching and learning from you but I have a problem.I get such bad hayfever and wake up with what feels like a giant lump in my throat.I take antihistamine but this is so annoying.It affects my sinus,just feels like I always have a cold.how do I solve this problem as this does affect my voice which is beautiful,clear and high when I'm not affected.I so love singing but this is a giant pain in the butt.Please tell me what I can do.
@Victoria-Victorious2 жыл бұрын
I would check with your doctor. Personally, if I experience thick mucus, I take an over the counter mucus thinner like Mucinex which helps a lot! Also, I am a big fan of nasal irrigation with saline solution to thin out the secretions. You can do a search on it.

Just looked at your selling page Victoria and it's difficult to know which programme would best hit my range
@Victoria-Victorious2 жыл бұрын
Each program covers 2 1/2 octaves in range. If singers are not sure of their voice type, I recommend ordering alto/mezzo-soprano for women and bass/baritone for men, especially for beginners. That is for lower to medium voice types, so unless you consider your voice to be high, this should work. If not, you have 30 days to switch to the higher voice category.
