3:56 If not done properly you should be able to see your whole life passing infront of your eyes and a nice refreshing gulp of chlorine water as you transition onto the next life.

You just have to keep your body loose... Your body automatically raises towards the surface

@@Shadow-uj1qv why is that exactly compared to if our body is a bit tense so that we are as straight as possible to reduce drag?

These are great videos. I’m using them for on line learning for my aquatics classes here in Vietnam, when we are doing blended on line and in person learning. So if you suddenly get a boost in views it might be my students.

These are fantastic videos, the entire series. All the details of good swimming techniques are photographed using very intelligent camera work, and the explanation is so easy to follow and seem to capture all the intricacies of each stroke so nicely. Thank you.

SwimLifePro I have a question... I have a problem with breathing during freestyle. When I do the freestyle I ensure that my body is in good posture as I go forward so as to prevent unnecessary drag and stay close to the surface but when I rotate my head and body sideways to breathe my head doesn't seem to be close to the surface it's still submerged so I tried tilting the crown of my head downward water so that my mouth can reach the surface but... Its still submerged and also the water tends to go straight into my ears when I do this which is uncomfortable😞 is this suppose to happen or where am I going wrong😞

I find it hard to maintain the flutter kick when I use my arms. Is there a solution for this? I am a beginner.
@sandybhar
@sandybhar 6 жыл бұрын
Prashansa Gurung same problem. Even I am learning since a month. I guess more practice is the solution. Muscle memory will take care of the rest. Your kicking will eventually continue even when u start using ur arms

Additionally when I tilt my head to breathe, all I find is water. I cant find air.

Yup. Same goes to me when i was a beginner. This style is quite difficult which i always swallow the chlorine water and got water inside one of my ears.

I learnt the flutter kick part first my holding on to the walls and practising just that. You can also use a kickboard in front of you to practise flutter kick in a lane.

You are not resting your hands. You also need to bend hands when pulling else it will damage your arms and cause pain.

While I'm swimming Freestyle and my head is down in the water (not actively side-breathing), I have a light light trickle out of my nose, just enough to make sure water doesn't go into my nose. Directly before I start my side-breath, I release all of my air through my mouth and nose in a quick burst to empty my lungs. By the time your head is at the height of the side-breath, you should have no air in your lungs at all so that the only thing you should be doing is inhaling. If you're exhaling while your face is out of water, you're wasting time that would otherwise allow you to have a bigger inhalation. Always exhale down, and breathe up. I hope this helps!
