Thank you for all of your lessons. This lesson is particularly helpful in understanding the SOV order doesn't always occur in casual conversation and bringing home the point about indirect objects always preceding the predicate. It seems that in making the indirect object a direct object, it does change the meaning of the sentence slightly. In your example, the father tells a story/stories every night, but the change to a direct object makes it a specific story (or specific stories if you make it plural). Very, very helpful!

Hi there. Thank you so much for your comment and support. I definitely know what you meant but in your comment you mentioned as "indirect object" needs to be "indefinite direct object", and "direct object" needs to be "definite direct object". Just a terminology :)

Çok teşekkür ederim 🙏 Bir isteğim var "olan" kelimesiyle ilgili bir videoyu çekebilir misiniz? Onu her duyduğumda kafam karıştı oluyor

Hi there. Thank you. For sure, I can make a video about it. But, I would like to understand what you need exactly. "Onu her duyduğumda kafam karışMIŞ oluyor." Is this type of use of "olmak" what you need? Or do you need to know how "ol-an" is used? Normally, these uses of "olmak" will come later as these are advanced concepts. But, I can definitely help you with that.

Merhaba hocam. Diğer kanalınıza Japoncada Relative Clauses ile ilgili bir video gelir mi? Bu konuyu sizden dinlemeyi çok isterim.

Merhaba. Gelir elbet ama ne zaman bilemiyorum. O kanalla çok fazla ilgilenemiyorum. Bir de o kanal iki dilin benzerlikleri ile ilgili olduğu için, muhtemelen benzerlik formatıyla gelecektir.

Can you make a video about word order? For example I know that turkish word order is subject-object- verb But what if there's 2 or more verbs / subjects, for example: "Ali will run and eat tonight with ahmet at his house" how on earth do I say that in turkish? Like when I try translating it on google translate it says something completely different Please if you can explain it, it would be very appreciated

Hi there, Thanks for your message. I have already made 5 videos about the word order in Turkish with basic sentences. You are posting this comment of yours under the fifth of those videos actually. Here is the entire playlist: kzbin.info/aero/PLASGkqfm55wQSPjjS_B1Mx0_sxDYEIIxv These videos will give you the fundamentals of the word order in Turkish. More complex sentences will come later after I teach complex structures. The Subject Object Verb word order is typical word order in Turkish. We change the word order most of the time depending on the context. The Google Translate may fail, also because your sentence is not entirely clear to it. "Ali will run and eat tonight with ahmet at his house." For Google Translate you sentence could mean: "Ali will run and Ali will eat tonight at Ali's house." "Ali will run and Ali will eat tonight at Ahmet's house." "Ali and Ahmet will run and eat at Ali's house." "Ali and Ahmet will run and eat at Ahmet's house." But, what I understand is hopefully you mean: "Ali will run and then Ali will eat tonight at Ali's house". With this mindset, the construction of Turkish sentence is very practical. "Ali will run". (Ali koşacak.) "Ali will eat tonight with Ahmet at his house. (Ali bu akşam Ahmet ile (birlikte) evinde (yemek) yiyecek.) Then you connect these sentence exactly like in English by using one subject. Ali koşacak ve bu akşam Ahmet ile (birlikte) evinde (yemek) yiyecek. By the way, this is not a very natural way of saying it in Turkish. I hope this helps.

And if you give this sentence to Google translate, you will probably get almost the right output: Ali will run and he will eat tonight with ahmet at his house.
