If you want to learn Turkish in an easy way, this video is just perfect for you! I have been teaching various languages for years and I have seen that people struggle with Turkish grammar. Especially because the root of the Turkish language is not European, it is hard for foreigners with European native languages to learn. In this video we're focusing on basic everyday Turkish sentences and how to use them. As I said in my previous videos, Turkish is an agglutinative language which means we add suffix and prefixes to the word stem rather than adding words to a sentence. This seems especially hard for foreigners but no worries! I'm making it as easy as possible without giving you too much grammar. After watching this video you will able to use more than 2000 different Turkish sentences!
When posting videos about Turkish I will always put emphasis on how to learn it especially taking the language culture into account.
If you want to learn Turkish and understand the Turkish language and its logic, you definitely need to watch this video till the end.
A lot of people around the world have been wanting to learn Turkish because of Turkish TV series.
On my channel I am explaining the key elements of the structure of Turkish, how it is used and what the main similarities and differences between Turkish and English (and other European languages) are. If you are a beginner and want to start learning English and don't know where to start, I'll show how to learn Turkish fast by firstly understanding the language culture and structure. Since Turkish is an agglutinative language, people struggle thinking in Turkish and therefore might learn the grammar because it is rather easy but the usage in everyday conversation can be quite different.

There's a tiny mistake at 5:38. It has to be "Yürüyorsun" (Second person singular), not "Yürüyosun".

I was born in England to Cypriot parents and so watch your videos to improve my Turkish. When I went on holiday to Turkey, many people commented not on my accent but on my diction which was thought to be old-fashioned and polite. I however would like to sound more current and everyday native. Please could you do a video on Turkish contractions and formal to informal language usage. For example: bir - bi; değil mi - demi. I think I'm pronouncing every letter, a little like Zeki Müren, rather than being fluid in my speech. BTW, your English accent is fantastic, as too are your clear, well constructed videos. 👏👏👏

Actually, you didn't say anything wrong. There are people who say "demi" for "değil mi", but many people also say "dimi" (but those who say "demi" can be more than those who say "dimi". Perhaps the reason for the slight differences in the use of this phrase may be that people live in different regions of Turkey ) Obviously I hear both a lot. If you say "dimi" to someone whose native language is Turkish, I don't think it would be a problem

I visited Istanbul twice a few years ago. I'm originally from Iran. Since my visit my mom got me addicted to Turkish series. Hahahaha. I've always been a lover of languages so I started learning Turkish. Originally I was watching them subtitled, but I finally got to a stage where I now understand 98 to 100% of the Turkish spoken in most series. I think it was easier for me to learn Turkish because of two main reasons. One being that Farsi has tons of words in common with Turkish, and the other is just my love of languages. Your videos are great and I love how you clearly pronounce and enunciate. However if you wouldn't mind me making a friendly suggestion, as much as it is nice to get more content in a shorter video, I think for people who are learning it is nicer to have a teacher that slows down a bit when they are going over the material. Thank you for the great work you do and I wish you a lovely spring and summer ahead. 🌷🙏🙂

This one video covers so much basic parts of the language that leaves the watcher with a lot of very practical knowledge and usage! and it's so compact, and very logically organized! THIS is what makes a good language video. Very refreshing, after coming from so many language videos that don't actually teach you a single thing! like really.

This is great. In the Southern US where we have a connection to Scottish and English ancestry, we say some similar things. We say “Take it Easy” when we leave a place. In the Evangelical Christian Church, we often pray to “bless the hands that prepared the food.” Mothers and sometimes teachers make that tsk-tsk sound that means “stop it,” “cut it out,” or “no”.

As a German, I find the alphabet and pronounciation pretty familiar, so that is not hard for me. I am just trying to find some way to learn turkish in my free time while I also do my German homeschooling for the "Realschulabschluss". I live in Turkey since late July this year and I can see that the English language and/or German language will not help me 100% of the time, so I want to learn turkish pretty fluently so I can communicate with more people. I appreciate that you take your time to teach many people out there the Turkish language, I really need to know it and from others who speak Turkish it is pretty easy, easier than German at least. Thank you very much!

One thing that I do not hear you mention is that to learn and use a language, you need to learn about the culture. Which I find adds the flavour of the culture to the words we are trying to say. Thank you again 🌹👏🌹

Finnish does the same thing where they often shorten or omit the pronouns because of the verb conjugations. It's also an agglutinative language, so there are probably a lot of other similarities in how grammar works.

Great video! Just one thing to fix, those time words doesn't necessarily placed at the beginning of the sentence. In Turkish, you put the word you want to emphasize just before the verb. Şimdi okula gidiyorsun. - > You're going to SCHOOL now. Okula şimdi gidiyorsun. - > You're going to school NOW.

The reality is that Turkish is a difficult language to learn. There are various reasons for it: 1. It belongs to the fast spoken languages. 2. It conjugates words, creating big ones, thus giving little time to think and formulate them. 3. The main verb is found in the last position of the sentence. If you get caught up in the middle of the sentence and miss the verb, you have lost the meaning. 4. The meaning starts at the beginning of the sentence, then moves to the end where the main verb lays, and comes from there to the beginning!

Since your grammar is so good, maybe you can explain this. In Azeri Turkish, we never say Gidiyorum, but only Gidirim. I have wondered whether this is the the difference between simple present tense and continuous present tense, as in "I am going" versus "I go." I have wondered whether Azeri Turkish has lost its continuous present tense and only uses the simple present, the same way Germans have no way of saying "I am going" but only say, "Ich gehe." Do you ever use the form Gidirim/Gidirsen/Gidiriz, etc. in Turkish??

Ich habe schaue deine Videos, weil du so eine angenehme Stimme hast. Türkisch habe ich 3 Jahre an der VHS gelernt. Um nicht alles zu vergessen, sind deine Videos genau richtig. Ich verfolge auch den Kanal von Travelcomic. Das Türkisch von Franziska verstehe ich besonders gut, denn sie hat einen deutschen Akzent. Danke 🙏🏻
