Hey, thanks for the acknowledgment of the video. Glad it was useful. Also glad you had an uneventful crossing of the WBB, unlike the boats I videoed. Common wisdom is less than 15kts wind and less than 1.5m swell and cross it 1 hr before high tide.

Thanks for getting in touch! Your videos are great to observe the bar and different vessels tackling it. We will only ever plan to cross in those conditions you stated, we have heard plenty of stories to send shivers up the spine. Cheers, Josh

Looks like you got pretty good condition to cross the bar. The last time I crossed that bar was in a friend's 47ft Riviera and we had waves crashing over the bow. Enjoy your ventures.

The story at the end sounds like an interpretation of an asteroid impact, the colour and the bang, a sonic boom looks like a boomerang and is created by a collision with the sky.

I love your posts. Totally enjoy your show. Just a couple of things I want to ask you, if I may. You refer each episode to the original land owners, fair enough, your thing. Can you explain Bradfield Art? I have asked this question many times but it seems the sensitivities of people prevent them from commenting. I would love to hear your opinion. Also, just a small thing...while you thank the creature you are about to consume for its sacrifice, fine by me, do you thank the creator of said creature? And if I may, by feeding creatures food, eg. Chips to birds, you are in fact unbalancing the eco system. I know, humans mean well, but animals don't eat our food, the forage for their own. Anyway, enough from me. I hope you don't find this offensive, it's not meant to be. It's just an observation. Love your channel. Keep up the good work. (Wayne)
@Thenewkidsonthedock Жыл бұрын
Hey Wayne, thanks so much for the words of support. You have touched on a few great topics here. Firstly we haven’t been to the Kimberly yet, having not viewed Bradfield art nor having read much on it we lack an informed opinion. I would like to respond to your question by directing you to a video of Free Range Sailing, who we adore. Their episode ‘What we learnt about the Kimberly rock art’ is really informative and interesting. We completely agree that by feeding wild animals you create an imbalance in their natural systems, and we have to make a conscious effort not to play in to ours/ their desires for connection via sharing food. Before every meal we thank the beings that brought our meal to table, regardless of what you believe in practicing gratitude is vital. Cheers mate, Josh

One thing we have learnt and always consider is that any place can be bad in the wrong conditions. Don’t be here when it’s happening there!

Its K'Gari. Calling it Fraser is an affront to our first nations people.
@Thenewkidsonthedock Жыл бұрын
You couldn’t be more right! This video was filmed back in early May, a month before the official name change from Fraser to K’Gari in June 2023. In our most recent video we also refer to it verbally as Fraser (because at the point of filming it had not yet been changed) however in the description it’s K’Gari. Thank you for the reminder 🖤💛❤️
