This method confused me at times as an intermediate knitter haha if I was a beginner learning this, I probably would have sat it down and never picked it back up 😆 when I first learned to knit, I started with a very simple wash cloth worked diagonally and learned how to knit stitch, increase, and decrease which is a solid foundation. From there I slowly started to explore new skills and am still exploring the knitting world 😄 (I also crochet and have been doing that for way longer lol) I'm always proud of myself whenever I finish a project I put down because not all my unfinished projects get that kind of special treatment 😂

Funnily enough, when I started knitting, I could never finish socks because I would always get bored/distracted while knitting the 2nd sock. When I discovered I could knit two at a time, it was a complete game changer. My only real issue was with casting on. Casting on half of one sock and then half of the other and then back again just didn't really work for me. Way too fiddly and melted my brain a bit. My solution was casting one sock first, putting it on hold with a stitch holder/waste yarn and then casting on the 2nd sock before setting them up on the needles to knit two at a time. Also fiddly and brain melting but less so (at least in my case)

@punkcrazycake that is such a smart idea for casting on! I'm gonna have to try that in the future because my brain was fried after casting these socks on lol that second sock when knitting one at a time is dreadful 🫠

You should try toe up sock next time. Judy’s magic cast on is the best cast on to use for it, in my opinion. The large tangles of yarn is why I personally recommend either yarn sleeves (which kind of resemble coffee mugs or pouches), or rewinding the balls after you change colors for the heel. I also like tucking the ends into the socks or just weaving them in right from the start to avoid the yarn barf. The only time I only ever knit one sock at a time is when I do stranded knitting, because 4+ balls of yarn at once is NOT fun. 😆 This is wonderful for a first attempt, cheers ❤️

Thank your for all the great advice! I definitely spent way too much time during this project untangling the yarn 😅 Using some of your tips will definitely save me time and frustration next time 😄

You’re welcome! You can look up crochet patterns for yarn cozies if you’d like (or cut up pantyhose lol). Watching this video, it seems like yarn tangling was definitely one of the main struggles. If you get that under control, I’m sure it’ll be much easier next time. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for more videos 👀

And one more recommendation: Crazy Sock Lady has KZbin tutorials for how to weave in ends as you go, so that might help!
