Tim hybrid picking. A technique where the pick comes in a downward stroke (as it usually does) but the middle and ring finger are utilized in an upward plucking fashion to add notes into a cord or progression without doing a full sweep of the pick and making and entire cord. It's done do to isolate all notes in an instances such as a cord and instead of producing a single stroke cord u produce entirely individual notes that all stand alone even if played simultaneously. Tim also does a tap version of thise method. But in the instance I think it's the normal hybrid picking hes doing.

I am dealing with a constant depression because I never practice my instruments to develop my natural music abilities so I can actually have skill. I was too afraid to tell my mom and my teachers that I wanted to pursue music after higschool. I was in all the band and music classes and excelled (even tho I didn't practice) and LOVED it. now I am 25 and I feel like I have wasted the past 8 years of my life. I have no self discipline in any area of my life and deal with crippling social anxiety and borderline agoraphobia. And I have this dying passion to be a performing musician and it is driving me INSANE. Though, I do sing a lot. I guess that counts as practice, though I could use some lessons, I don't think I'm too shabby. Could def be better tho.

I understand how you feel, I get no motivation to practice my instruments and all i want to do is perform music in a band with my best friends (which sadly doesnt happen anymore). One month i'll be playing my guitar and bass nonstop and then suddenly one day "BOOM" there's nothing and my guitars collect dust for the next 5 months and all my skill disappears with it... What i think what needs to be done is you need to find someone with the same passion for music as you which will give you that motivation... easier said than done though.. I wish you all the best in your future though and hope you find that spark to get your motivation.. Stay strong
