Decided to pop into the skate park last night and meet up with some friends for a quick session which turned into us learning frontside airs on mini ramp. Always wanted to be able to do these so I’m psyched to have made some progress.

Trick to the Trick: Always mirror the angle when coming back in. If you hit it at 45 degrees, then your angle coming back in should be 45. Same with BS airs.

I think that manly depends on the ramp. If its a vert ramp you can fly high very easily, if it's a small miniramp you need to pop the board

Chad, I started skating again about 2 years ago now roughly around the time you started really making content for your channel. I built a mini ramp in my back yard and I can't tell you how much you've helped me with thinking of new tricks and working on easy ways to make progression that is observable. I also just got my wheels and shirt from your wheel company, love that I can support you monetarily. I really can't think of a skate company/person that deserves it more. Thank homie and keep doing what you're doing!

A good fella told me do ollies in mini ramp works better if thinking like you're doing alley-oop. In that way you're gonna go straight and jumps to up. Anyway, the guy with the grey tshirt is jumping to a side instead to up, but the style is pretty cool, kinda Gonzo.. so who cares..LOL... but, seriously, I saw friends who just fly in front ollies without need much speed, just they do kinda alley-oop.

One of the last times I went to a park I was in my late 40s. I hadn’t been riding in a lot of years because I couldn’t afford getting hurt with the good paying job. Well I started getting comfortable and just cruising around the park doing frontside and backside grinds. Then I decided to see if I could still do frontside airs. The ramp size was about exactly like the one in the video. Here I go and setting myself up to attempt my first frontside air in probably 20 years. I am ready and fully committed and so everything went to perfection except one little detail. My back trucks hang up coming back in. Fortunately I didn’t get hurt and was able to work. Dang I miss skating but it’s definitely a young man’s sport!😂🤙

Are you bonking the coping? Or are you popping an ollie in the transition? Vert ramp skaters will tell you to bonk, but I always wondered about airs on miniramps, since its not vertical. it seems that popping is necessary

The quarter pipe I’m learning these on is less vertical not as tall or wide, I’m trying to learn to get a little higher above coping on this ramp over a foot is what I’m looking for but concerned about catching the coping, or going off the side, any advise I have video on channel showing me doing some need advise to get higher on them.

@AbcdeF-zv4xh
@AbcdeF-zv4xh 4 жыл бұрын
Frontside and backside describe which direction you’re turning but can be really confusing for beginners 😂 (trust me I remember). Frontside refers to the fact that his frontside is facing out of the ramp. Backside would refer to the fact that his back is facing out.
