Learning how to learn by yourself is highly underrated but very important. It means you can learn stuffs by reading books, or without a mentor. This is what many great people have. If you don't have it, you will always need a tutor, and a mentor.

Yeah it is possible that you may do it but first and foremost curiosity is needed. Imagine! Without curiosity how is it even possible for a human being to learn other than traditional memorizing. Without interest it's not humanly and ultimately a big reason for the down fall of civilizations. This is the real issue with today's traditional schooling learning system.

Recently I read a book called "make it stick" and it confirms everything you say, be it creating memory models, or dealing with abstract ideas or spaced out retrieval practices.

It is commendable that you are reaching out to school children. It is so important to develop these skills early. Also, you have beautifully described the difference between memory and rote memorization. Experience in life is a lot about what is stored in memory and how it is interpreted and adopted for different situations considering different circumstances. This is how a human brain works and technology is trying to replicate that. Finally, you have imparted a very good lesson of scientific learning, wherein one should not assume things and explore deeper to find the true meaning. It stands true for everything.

Great video sir ! To highlight a specific point, I found your point about memory extremely apt. Nowadays people find great pleasure in belittling the capability of memorisation, and most confuse memory with rote memorisation ( memorising without understanding, like a parrot maybe.) Even for intelligence heavy tasks like math and chess, proficient people have memorised many patterns and logics before they reach a level of expertise, as memorising something after understanding helps hugely in application speed. I believe other teachers should also emphasise upon valuing this crucial skill as you did.

I am really interested in his course and the advices he puts out, But due to some limitations I can't afford to buy his course at this time, So instead I've been following other channels and trying my best to come up with solutions myself. @@8dbassboost342 maybe you misread my message but as i said i am not enrolled in his course, although i also have been watching his content since early 2021. I do have some idea of what his course has to offer to some extent, some of the things about his course i got to know from his discord server, others are from his report on learning, free webinars, archer newton's yt channel, icanstudy yt channel and some other sources. The course might be really beneficial for those people who need step by step realtime guidance with a coach, otherwise the main principles on which his course is based on is already available on yt and other sources i mentioned above. One advice i would like to give is to really be critical about each aspect about your learning system and really think about in what way it helps in you being able to retain that content for longer, being able to utilise it according to your own needs. Keep making small changes to your system every few days to gain massive improvements over the long term.

Good video. In India, it seems like becoming a google (basically spitting facts for a question) has become more important than thinking. Environment in schools/colleges also support that behavior. I remember (long back) a German professor at IIT M used to ask simple questions but for every answer he would force you to expand on that making you think and also develop how to face challenges.

I find "enquiry based learning" very helpful for my third year engineering class. "Prashnopanishad" , the six quesions invoking deep answers, is afterall the motivation. I try to provide them a piece of new information and motivate them to ask questions. I don't provide any other knowledge/insights/remarks other than what they asked. I consolidate these learnings at the end of the day and then next lecture I tell them the important aspects in the topic which they missed out because the questions did not come to them. Its fun.

I highly agree with your video, since my school time i used to spend more time with myself deducing things and not relying on the teacher, the sole reason I loved school was friends and sports. I used to handle most of learning alone, no tuitions till grade 10th but once I entered this JEE coaching, I realised how brutally I have been damaged. I lost all my creative thinking ability. Thanks to shitty coaching institutes. A school going regular student is highly better than a fellow who justs spends his time in coaching

Long story short nothing beats Practice and rote learning. Because as children never focused behind the truth of a statement. We all know sun rises from the East *because we took fact as it is, instead of burning our brain cells behind validating and arguing whether this statement holds truth or not.* So, for practical subjects just practise as much sums as possible, whereas for theory just learn things as it is.

One of the brilliant videos, I have ever seen Sir. As usual amazing. Since this is for school kids, I made both my kids sit with me to see this. All three of us, were able to resonate this at our level. I was amazed, when u said, your son read the sentence- the sun rises in the east. This is what is actually happening in my class right now. My kids are slowly able to read, few words, but for the word, they don’t understand, they start asking me for snack break, washroom break, mom, when they would reach home etc. My son said that, what exactly you said about chess was true. He is learning chess. So he was able to resonate to it well. My daughter said, was able to relate to the name of your paper presentation. She couldn’t understand it, but she little bit understood the meaning of the words in that. Recently she and friend went to inter school competition for concept teaching. They selected chemical kinetics as the topic. So she was like kind of able to understand ur paper presentation topic like 1% Wonderful video Sir. Thank you

28:37 I watched that few days ago 😂 didn't expect it to be in your video 😂 (I knew that since beginning of video) Ugh btw interest matters too :/ I was kinda ok person (8.55/10 in my electronics engineering days). People used to see me as fast learner & smart guy. I was decent in programming too. So I somehow got an IT job & due to lockdown, I got way too lazy. I just couldn't learn things as expected & I didn't even get interest (my interest was govt job in PSU as electronics engineer, kind of). My classmates just went with flow, they didn't like electronics, but they do work quite well IT (meanwhile I couldn't even last 2 months 😭 it was all self learning & I couldn't do it. I even got fever for 2-3 days due to that). I quit job & I couldn't clear exams & it's been 2 years 😓 I missed some subject(s) & aptitude is supposed to be better, so missed by a few marks in 1 exam. My friend suggested for higher education (preferably in IITs), but I've no energy to study irrelevant part which I won't use in job ugh :/ I'm exhausted & burned out. Meanwhile my classmate who couldn't do well, now are doing better in life. I'm lagging & regret that why this happened to me ;_;

I was able to solve that laser question instantaneously(I am 19 btw), but I dont want to emphasize that I am genius or anything, since I have lost socially by not being aware about JEE and not using coachings and all just to be in State Government Engineering College after 1 year drop which also because of the pressure and surprising syllabus of JEE spoilt my mental health too. Bro, for chemistry, just mug up all the ppts. Also practice any numerical which comes in the pdfs. I guess you have 5 chapters/topics.So it's possible that there are numericals in each topic. Hence you should first finish all numericals and then go to theory part. In that also, first revise midterm portion properly and then mug up portion after midterm. About biology, I think that latter part after midterm is easy in the sense there is very less to mug up. You try to guess the reasons for whatever process is happening, why its happening, how you applied things. Because as far as I remember, when I had this subject in my first year, I didn't study much for it but still got a good grade. See, you have benefit of ppt only in first year. In second year you won't get ppt. It's easier to score right now for you. So prepare accordingly

When there is content to memorize, divide them into chunks of headings : what, why, how etc. When there is a context to a paragraph, one can write it themselves, you know, you don't have to paste them line by line in exams

I'll tell you something.. don't skip rote memorization. As useless as it may seem, I have seen that when I wanted to commit something to memory, I just couldn't. So I took it as a challenge to deduce as much info possible from things that made no sense. The online free material & IGNOU guides can also help the poor students.... If you have better suggestions or Study plan to have a good foundational approach to each subject & connecting them, suitable for Indisciplinary Research & studies ... Please do share

hello sir , i am a grade 10 student , about to have my board exams next year that is in the month of feb or march , i recently wrote my grade 10 mid terms and was not so happy infact what made me so unhappy was the fact that i have underperformed when compared to my previous tests. i have decided to take up JEE in my 11th and 12th , but after seeing my 10th grade mid term scores my parents believe i am not capable enough to write JEE but i believe if i work hard i can , that's why i started working hard again , and during this time period i found ur videos very educational and motivational , but i have come across a problem , it is extremely hard for me to remember and understand certain physics concepts , for example some chapters from optics , i believe this is due to the bad coaching at school but i understand blaming wont help. And secondly i have exam fear , i perform really well in the class tests etc , where i am not under pressure but in the exam hall itself i find myself to be under way more pressure than i am normally in , this literally makes my mind go blank , and i am starting to worry that this issue will be a huge problem in my boards. i have not been able to overcome this issue for long time. Do u have any suggestions sir ? maybe taking mock tests or anything like that?. , I would greatly appreciate your guidance.

You must sit for mock tests. I myself used to do them for my 10th boards.

I think this is a common issue as I myself went through this I’m also someone who has exam fear. I would advice you to relax and try your best I used to score very bad in school exams but with self belief and patience I scored 91% in class 10. But remember class 11 is very different it requires thrice the hard work than 10th and one more thing that don’t ever think of perfection in post class 10 because doing only relevant things will get you ahead. Sir, exactly what problems should I be solving as a tenth grader with a few months to spare before 11th begins(I will be preparing for JEE), to improve my problem solving skills, i mean is there any specific book or other source. I have no problems with my regular school tests and sit comfortably above 95 percent is periodic tests and preboard sets.

There are different books for different subjects for jee prep Cengage is one of the best for maths For physics physics galaxy is best For chemistry ( well Idk)
