gotta consider 99% of peoples first manual car isn’t a rwd 600hp FBO stage 3 clutch bald eagle machine. so props for diving right in the deep end!

I was gonna make my own comment, bu this sums it up. Learning how to drive manual is a process itself, but a vette? Much less a 600whp vette? It only get's easier from here.

It's actually much easier to learn with a car with plenty of torque because they don't stall nearly as easily.
@PointNemo95 ай бұрын
@@warmongerism You are completely wrong. Manuals with less torque are much more difficult to drive because they stall a lot more easily, so balancing the clutch and throttle is a lot more difficult. Cars with plenty of torque are a lot more forgiving. Someone who learnt manual in a muscle car and then tries to drive a 1.4 litre econobox will stall every time like a noob.
@parkersux3 ай бұрын
the first thing I had to learn in my first manual car was when coming out of first gear you don't have to release the clutch all the way to start moving. One thing I did was rush off the clutch and it jerks around. in my head the clutch is like a second throttle and the less it pushed in the faster you can go

Hold down for 4 seconds after you turn trac off. It then turns stability control off and you'll spin for days.

The easiest way to learn how to drive a manual car worked wonders for me and that was to find the biting point of the clutch, add a little gas, release a little more and once you feel the clutch is no longer slipping, you fully let go of the pedal

I appreciate this video so much. It’s crazy how you can know how to drive stick. But still need to learn how to drive stick. When getting a new car. Upgrading your own car. But it’s so true. You gotta learn HOW to drive each car. What each car likes. So when I see someone bumping along in front of me, or hear them riding the clutch a bit, I just assume their still learning a new car. I was 4 years into driving my current car and it was raining. So my shoe has a bit of water on it. And my foot slipped off the clutch and it got a bit bumpy. Everyone was looking at me like it was my first time. In reality. My foot just wasn’t center and it slipped off.

Find bite first, see the torq of car and where the rpm sits at second . If the torq is high normally in diesels you can move off smoothly without gas then foot off clutch with matching with the gas . If low torq you need to apply gas at bite and as you slowly let go of clutch you need to give gas, the faster you give gas the faster you can move off the clutch. When the car jolts the rpm is too low for that gear and when it stalls way too low rpm and engine can’t run anymore.

Honestly pretty good brother I’m 15 right now but my dad has a Manuel GTI and I started when I was 14 and literally couldn’t figure out letting off the clutch to fast and dropping rpm’s to much but I just kept trying and now I can almost perfect shifting and starting which is the hardest. But keep trying and you’ll get there

I’d buy the c6 grand sport over the c6 z06 due to LS7s having valve drop issue. (Proud owner of a manual LS3)

only had that issue in 06’s and it was rare even then

@MrFrost-xh6rf: C6 Z06 is a special car with a special engine. Sounds like this kid has the money to deal with dropping a valve, in which case he can buy a built, replacement engine from Texas Speed or Katech, or even buy a short block and performance heads and have some content building those. Plus he’s talking boost, so if he blows this LS7, he can get an LS3 and boost that since they take boost better. Lots of options.

High torque at low rpm makes it easier, not harder. That's why driving instructors in England often teach in diesel cars.
