Seeing this was filmed in 1991, Dawn may have initially been infected with HIV at age 16 in 1986. I'm sure Dawn may have had access to AZT, however as we now know, AZT only temporarily slowed down the progress from HIV to AIDS, HIV eventually mutated and AZT was not as useful, and AZT was highly toxic to begin with. Only if Dawn's body was strong enough for four to five more years, her immune system possibly could have responded well with the "lifeboat" of HIV medications, in 1995/1996. R.I.P Dawn. A beautiful woman inside and out.

@@lkweasley8236 that is a blessing that he was able stay with us, even during the dark ages of HIV & AIDS. He must have been a LTNP (Long-Term Non-Progressor). What do you feel about the following recent medical breakthroughs in HIV research: (1) injectable prEP being FDA approved and available, (2) the combined mRNA HIV Vaccines *mRNA 1644 (eOD-GT8 60mer mRNA) + mRNA 1644v2Core (Core-g28v2 60mer)* , by Moderna and (3) the two HIV gene therapies *AGT103-T* , by America Gene Technologies and *EBT-101* , by BioTherapeutics???

I feel so much respect for her liveliness, and being so dedicated to her incredibly important work. Her strong believes and thoughts of living rather than dying really had a positive and inspirational impact on me. We have to be humble, and nok take everything for granted. Everyone can run in to bad luck, an we should embrace every day with an open mind to each other. Life is a very fragile thing.

Can people get HIV/AIDS through drogs to?? Or only from unprotected sex?? I got really confused at her message..
@WW-jh2ge5 жыл бұрын
It’s important to consider that it also may be possible to contract the virus through sharing straws or dollar bills with snorting drugs too. People’s noses can bleed, and passing along something that went up someone’s nose to another person while snorting drugs can lead to blood borne pathogen transmission . To my knowledge, no case has been linked to this way, but it is still theoretically a risk. Generally this risk is only mentioned regarding Hep C transmission, but it’s important that if anyone is going to use drugs, never ever share things that come into contact with bodily fluids, especially IV needles.
@AseAleisha2 жыл бұрын

Contracting hiv through sharing straws or dollar bills to snort drugs is literally unheard to the point of almost being an uneducated myth.. but you can catch it through sharing needles to inject drugs intravenously
