Overall EXO is the vocal power group. Chen is the most secluded member. He doesn’t really spread information about his life he also just does what he thinks is the right thing. His dad was a vocal coach and he said if he didn’t sing he would be one. Fans didn’t know he had a girlfriend until he came out with a note saying he’s getting married and found out she was pregnant. The amazing thing is he said he wanted 2 kids, a girl then a boy and he achieved that. She was also born in April and one of his albums is called April and a flower so she’s his little flower. He got lots of hate for it mostly from his Korean fans (us international fans were super happy for him) and hasn’t many updates till recently. If you want to watch kdramas you have to check out the drama genius D.O. Some that you definitely have to check out are ‘My annoying brother’ ‘Swing kids’ (definitely!) and a series called ‘100 days my prince’ you will love all of them and most likely cry. I would definitely love to see your reaction to them

33:55 it's an exo/sm thing to drop a letter and a solo song before enlisting. Baekhyun, Chen and Suho (and hopefully Kai) are the only ones with a proper "solo career" with mini album and promotions (chanyeol has done many collaborations but they are under-promoted and he doesn't have an mini album) Before enlisting Chen had me crying for days over the lyrics of his song "Hello". it's about a letter that starts and ends with "hello" because of all the complicated emotions that you can't express... kinda a reflection of his life at the moment. Since the announcement of his marriage and the baby there was/is a lot of hate towards him, and he just disappeared from the public eye with few appearances here and there. This year we barely had updates and then he uploaded a letter announcing that he was enlisting. It's bittersweet but the loyals stay. The fans do not own the idols, much less their private life. Period. Cute fact: Chen debuted as soloist in with "April and a flower" in april 2019. Now this year his baby girl debuted in this world in April 🥰 My native language it's not english so if I have a mistake pls don't be afraid to correct me

Hey! Some response to your comments + info that wasn't in the guide: - Chen's youtube channel. Chen doesn't have any English covers on his channel but you should absolutely react to the songs in his channel! I suggest, to start out: *Breath, All of My Life* and *Cherry Blossom Love Song* (this last one is actually not a cover, but Chen's own OST for a drama which actually D.O starred in). I would absolutely love to hear your vocal coach insight/commentary on his covers! However. If you would like to check out an English cover that Chen has done, you might be interested in reacting to his English cover of John Lennon's song Imagine. It was in a live concert by Steve Barakatt who invited Chen as a special guest. - Solos. Chen is actually the first Korean member who went solo (April 2019). After Chen, other members began releasing solos (Baekhyun, Suho, Kai). What this guide doesn't tell you is that Chen's first solo release is the most successfully digitally (digital chart rankings/points) among all Exo songs/albums and Exo solo members songs/albums. Many people in Korea know Chen from his solos and OSTs and are surprised when they learn he is a member of an idol boy group. Beyond solo music and osts, Chen has also released collab singles with various artists, most notably the 2 singles Nosedive and You, which are collabs with famous rap artists Dynamic Duo. Nosedive actually won 2 big awards in 2019 for best rap collab. - "I thought D.O was the best vocalist in Exo." It is in fact Chen, although of course all 3 main vocalists have their own strengths, and they are all very good. However if you consider them holistically, the best vocalist is without a doubt Chen. He is even considered one of the top in all of kpop, not just Exo. - Chen's voice in Tears. You were concerned about Chen when he sang Tears (21:40) but Chen definitely does not sing crazy high and strained like he does there. It was definitely just a 1-time thing for this segment of the show, where the members were asked to show off their unique skill. Chen's skill was "singing Tears in the original female key." Chen definitely takes care of his voice by using correct technique. Actually he revealed last year that he was worried a lot in his early years of Exo because their company kept making him sing crazy high notes in their live performances, and he worried a lot he would hurt his vocals. Trash company. Anyway... - Rock. Exo does not have any rock songs however Chen does have 2 rock songs in his discography: Uprising (2014; special concert-only release) and Watch Out (2018; Japanese solo within Exo-CBX album). Chen has said he has a rock soul. His loud and powerful voice is perfect for rock. It would be awesome for you to react to the live performances of *Uprising* and *Watch Out* (although Watch Out is more like a mix of rock and other genre).

35:55 He faced so many hardships and got so much hate and backlash after he announced his marriage. It was not easy at all for him and also for exols who wanted to protect him and his happiness from haters but we wish he knows we got his back and he has the right to do whatever makes him happy.

Chen is an amazing vocalist but also really kind and caring ❤️ I don’t think the guide mentioned it but he is currently serving in the military and before he left he gifted exol’s with his song “hello” and yes all the members have some type of solo album or project/song.
