The Holy Trinity of EXO vocals is Chen, D.O and Baekhyun. But to industry critics and music experts regard him (Chen) as one or the best idol singer from 3rd generation. Overall EXO is the vocal power group. Chen is the most secluded member. He doesn’t really spread information about his life he also just does what he thinks is the right thing. His dad was a vocal coach and he said if he didn’t sing he would be one. Fans didn’t know he had a girlfriend until he came out with a note saying he’s getting married and found out she was pregnant. The amazing thing is he said he wanted 2 kids, a girl then a boy and he achieved that. She was also born in April and one of his albums is called April and a flower so she’s his little flower. He got lots of hate for it mostly from his Korean fans (us international fans were super happy for him) and hasn’t many updates till recently. If you want to watch kdramas you have to check out the drama genius D.O. Some that you definitely have to check out are ‘My annoying brother’ ‘Swing kids’ (definitely!) and a series called ‘100 days my prince’ you will love all of them and most likely cry. I would definitely love to see your reaction to them

Hey! Some response to your comments + info that wasn't in the guide: - Chen's youtube channel. Chen doesn't have any English covers on his channel but you should absolutely react to the songs in his channel! I suggest, to start out: *Breath, All of My Life* and *Cherry Blossom Love Song* (this last one is actually not a cover, but Chen's own OST for a drama which actually D.O starred in). I would absolutely love to hear your vocal coach insight/commentary on his covers! However. If you would like to check out an English cover that Chen has done, you might be interested in reacting to his English cover of John Lennon's song Imagine. It was in a live concert by Steve Barakatt who invited Chen as a special guest. - Solos. Chen is actually the first Korean member who went solo (April 2019). After Chen, other members began releasing solos (Baekhyun, Suho, Kai). What this guide doesn't tell you is that Chen's first solo release is the most successfully digitally (digital chart rankings/points) among all Exo songs/albums and Exo solo members songs/albums. Many people in Korea know Chen from his solos and OSTs and are surprised when they learn he is a member of an idol boy group. Beyond solo music and osts, Chen has also released collab singles with various artists, most notably the 2 singles Nosedive and You, which are collabs with famous rap artists Dynamic Duo. Nosedive actually won 2 big awards in 2019 for best rap collab. - "I thought D.O was the best vocalist in Exo." It is in fact Chen, although of course all 3 main vocalists have their own strengths, and they are all very good. However if you consider them holistically, the best vocalist is without a doubt Chen. He is even considered one of the top in all of kpop, not just Exo. - Chen's voice in Tears. You were concerned about Chen when he sang Tears (21:40) but Chen definitely does not sing crazy high and strained like he does there. It was definitely just a 1-time thing for this segment of the show, where the members were asked to show off their unique skill. Chen's skill was "singing Tears in the original female key." Chen definitely takes care of his voice by using correct technique. Actually he revealed last year that he was worried a lot in his early years of Exo because their company kept making him sing crazy high notes in their live performances, and he worried a lot he would hurt his vocals. Trash company. Anyway... - Rock. Exo does not have any rock songs however Chen does have 2 rock songs in his discography: Uprising (2014; special concert-only release) and Watch Out (2018; Japanese solo within Exo-CBX album). Chen has said he has a rock soul. His loud and powerful voice is perfect for rock. It would be awesome for you to react to the live performances of *Uprising* and *Watch Out* (although Watch Out is more like a mix of rock and other genre).

I like how your videos are getting longer and longer, we’re going to have two hours of Kai at this point 😂 I’m not complaining, please do! Chen is the one I connected the least, I don’t know why. But his vocal range is just ridiculous, I don’t understand how is it even possible. I just binged EXO Next Door. It’s so cheesy and silly but it’s also so cute I think I’m in love with Chanyeol (the pink haired guy). It’s very short (15min each episode) and it’s on KZbin in case you’re curious. Aaaannnnd D.O. it’s also one of the main characters (him and Chanyeol). Although I dare to say Sehun kinda stole the show, hahaha!

One of my very favorite songs is Nosedive by Dynamic Duo in which Chen is featured. It won one of the major music awards for collaboration that year. More recently he worked with them on You. DD is hip hop/rap and they’re older (40). An unlikely but brilliant pairing.

When you said you didn't actually read what was on the screen because you were too busy looking at Xiumin in glasses and pink hair... That hurt 😿 that clip was from their 2019 Obsession promotion, so the one you were looking at was Chanyeol since both Xiumin and D.O. were in the military already 😿 Chen is considered as the best vocalist in Exo, Baekhyun after him and D.O. as the third one if it comes to technique (at least that's what vocal coaches say) and if I remember correctly he said that if he didn't debut with Exo he would probably be a vocal coach. For me when Chen sings I can feel it. He puts so much emotion into his voice. That's why he did so many OSTs, his voice suits them so well. Beautiful Goodbye is from his first mini album April and a Flower, it's not an OST 😹 In some clips the man that was with curly hair that said he never teased Jongdae was actually I'm Hanbyul (Onestar). He's a really good friend and a Vocal Director. They have released one song together (special project) called May We Bye and a clip of it was in the guide. The other men from this kind of clips (like the clip where you can hear Chen's laugh) are friends from his mini series Heart4u. Now to the heavy stuff. Chen has been inactive even before his enlistment in October. After he announced that he's getting married and that he's going to be a father some k-antis started destroying his merch, albums, sent him and his family d3ath thr3ats, trended Chen oυt # etc. He's been out of the public eye for about 10 months. This is why idols don't announce that they are in a relationship and many are even hiding their marriage. And apparently the fans new that he had a gf for 5 years so it's not like it was a shock to them. Especially since he was seen ring shopping last year I believe? Hopefully by the time he comes back from the military these people will grow up or just leave the fandom so he can go back to his normal activities. Not to end on a heavy note: the covers on his YT channel are all in Korean XD so no he didn't cover the song you mentioned 🤷‍♀️ unless he did at some radio appearance, but I don't think so.
