This! This, how much I loved this! You're the man when it comes to all things Carlton and the Australian game. For you to share the story of likeminded others who have not grown up with the game but who share the same passion for the greatest game on the planet, brings me so much joy. (What a fantastic interview and how good is Oliver even if he's not a Blues fan). I'm a big sports fan but I long for the day when the rest of the world discovers the greatest game on the planet. (No better than you and Oliver to help do so). A hundred likes if I could. Thank you!

Always a bizarre one this. Uk history we go in-depth on the commonwealth and the south Africans love the phrase too, as it was heavy an army base the cockney rhyming slang took off and it's coz they were immigrants and stuck. Weird how it's changed to Australians as the British empire never used acronyms on prisoners unless they were in isolation hence our derogatory term for sex offenders nonce in uk. Like the term at his or hers majesty's pleasure for the acronym to work wasn't used in any form of literature till 1910 so it's a funny folklore here. Kiwis and South Africans seem to have nailed the colonial history
@lexsaunders1742

G'day mate, Oliver, what a champion , makes you want to listen, two intelligent blokes having a chat, just happen to be two Australians with pommy roots commenting on AFL, diverse option alive and well I think. When the rivalry gets out of hand it detracts from the codes enjoyment, nothing wrong with giving each other shit up to a point, but then it's what you are born into I suppose. The idea of you two doing a show anywhere, sign me up mate. As a bullants member who goes to 90% of games I agreee with both Oliver and you Pom. I tell you the Coburg, Bullants rivalry when we are at each others grounds is a very real thing while the shared struggle of being a stand alone club gives a commonality. Still, Coburg supporters mate, a cheaper version of the Collingwood inbreeding program. Agree with Olivier, a afternoon spent at the bullants home paddack with kids all over the place running around off the leash or for the younger ones rolling down the outers grassed hill and the dogs on the leash everywhere, a great way to spend time watching footy. Unfortunately for us Bullants fans missing a bit of winning success, good job I'm a blues fan, well praticed at being patient. Thoroughly enjoyed listening to the two of you mate, so many wonderful voices to hear locked out of the mainstream, great you and Tez can introduce us. Merry xmas, Go Pom, Go Blues.
