LEARNING TO DRIVE IN VR ON QUEST 2 // Car Parking Simulator VR Gameplay // Car Parking Sim Quest 2

BEEP BEEP, COMING THROUGH! Today I'm learning to drive in VR on Quest 2 with Car Parking Simulator VR, a Quest 2 driving simulator that challenges players to park in increasingly difficult situations & scenarios. Now I can't drive, I never learned to, so this is a real test of Car Parking Simulator VR & it's authenticity, can I learn to drive in VR? Will this Oculus Quest Car Parking Simulator get me my driving license? No...probably not... but it will definitely be fun!
I've played a lot of games in VR & a lot of games on my Oculus Quest 2 but this is the first of it's kind for me, my first VR driving simulator learning tool (it does feel like this could have some really useful learning applications). The handling on the cars in Car Parking Simulator feels great, the cars feel heavy & using your mirrors to maneuvre into tight spaces or around nearby parked cars feels slick & intuitive, I'd be really interested to hear what someone who can drive thinks of the Car Parking Simulator VR gameplay / VR driving simulator Oculus Quest gameplay because I imagine they would have far more to say on the accuracy of the game. As someone who can't drive & is looking to learn to drive this Quest 2 parking game felt like a great (consequence free and safe) gateway into trying the real thing.

Just played this and passed the Parking missions. This game has VERY good mechnics and physics about parking. I can attest this point. I applied all my real world driving experiences on it and saw no differences.

They really should use tools like these to have people prepare to drive on the road before their driving test to get their license so they won't get anxious. Etc. Who ever made this did a good job. :)

@@bed7610 the idea itself I haven't ditched, but the game I have. The game is designed around a clutch car and I don't plan on driving those so it was very infuriating if anything to attempt to use it.

yep, agreed..get a logitech G29 /2900 and an H shifter, use manual gearbox, he could use Australia setting as they drive on the left like here in the UK. ( there's no uk in the game) ive been driving over 20 years but still have loads of fun with this :O) AND he will have a blast with project cars 2 and 3 , assetto corsa, Dirt rally 2 etc etc..BENJO.. GET A WHEEL AND PEDALS !

I tried to teach my daughter on Assetto corsa on the l.a canyons mod track using a van, vr is very good to learn how and where to be spatial aware and it added to her confidence and she passed her driving test just before.... lockdown🙄

Yeah seems weird that the Quest is missing a proper racing game, there's a bunch of arcade style ones and kart racers but nothing like Project Cars etc... specifically for the Quest platform 🤔

@@BeardoBenjo I believe it's like that to emulate haptic feedback. The clutch jolts pretty significantly when you shift and releasing and grabbing the clutch in game would be like those jolts. Also so people don't push it and think they've gone all the way but went into wrong gear

Hah dude, I'm in the same boat! I'm 36 and still haven't learned to drive. So I'm thinking about getting a wheel and pedals and learning in vr cause it's cheaper than lessons. But the reason I never learned to drive is cause I had a serious drinking problem and I didn't want to make it someone else's problem. Been sober 8 years now so it's probably time I learned lol.

The Quest 2 has a built in ability to cast the gameplay to a nearby monitor or TV as long as they're connected to the same network, so he could be playing inside the headset and casting everything he's doing to a nearby screen (even a mobile phone screen actually) for you to watch along and help

I find these types of games are ok but they are hard to drive with controllers in thin air, thief simulator vr is the same I alos do not find these type of game very immersive, if you have a decent wheel like a g920 or something, driving in vr is a must, you will never look back unless your reversing haha. live for speed is a free vr driving game its reall old but looks ok in vr.
