Agreed on the first one, my SIL is Taiwanese and will be raising my nephew bilingual and i really want to learn but there are no apps or anything related to the Taiwanese dialect. I’m so frustrated.

In my home country (Germany) it is not allowed to walk on bike ways, they are only for people on bicycles. I learned it very quickly that in Taiwan pedestrians are everywhere and such a rule simply doesen"t exist. So here I navigate myself through the people sometimes better sometimes worse. 😄

谢谢，很有意思！One interesting thing I learned in Taiwan is that the colour blue is associated with reunification with Mainland China due to this colour being associated with the Kuomintang (KMT) political party. I found this out from a tour guide due to wearing my blue raincoat. Nobody was mad or anything, I just thought it was interesting.

真的哎除了第3和第7另外的在大陆也是一摸一样耶😆这边一般在地铁上没有规定不能吃东西和喝水但是一般也没有太多人在地铁上吃东西(看到的有点少)，第7就是这边如果礼物收到了好看的鞋子真的会超开心🥳

In America if someone asks “how are you?” It’s more of a greeting the proper answer is “good how are you?” And they will reply with something positive like “good”, “I’m well” and then you get on with your conversation Now obviously if you are close with someone and it’s a more intimate one on one conversation like you have gotten together to catch up that’s different.. Iiii think anyway, that’s how I do it personally.

As far as drinking water from the tap, the issue can be excessive lead levels depending on where you live. That's why we have filters at home, to remove the heavy metals. Lead comes from the old pipes used over a century ago when Taiwan's infrastructure was being built out. Boiling tap water doesn't solve that issue.

Thank you. I have fallen deeply in love with a Taiwanese lady. I want very much to honor her and her family. I am learning many things to do, and NOT do. I would like to request one thing from you. You speak very quickly, when teaching the language ..... please speak slower. I am finding it difficult to understand how do say things in Taiwanese because I cannot understand you when you translate from English to Taiwanese. She speaks English wonderfully but, I want to speak to her (as best I can) in her native language, and when the time comes to meet her family I'd like to show them respect by being able to speak some of the language. Thank you again, I appreciate you efforts.

Thanks for the video! It’s my great resource of learning Chinese. We have similar don’t-do in Japan but I’m so impressed that you cannot eat or drink at MRT. I also think Taiwanese people have high morals regarding priority seats in MRT. Because sadly in Japan, young people sit on priority seats all the time.

不敢尝试在快餐店(麦当劳、肯德基、赛百味、星巴克等等)与当地人用中文交谈。They are very busy, and since they know (in my case) I am not asian, they will reply in English :)! I really enjoyed visiting Taiwan, people are very nice.

Mandarin language is naturally spoken fasten than other languages. Its a compact language so you need few words to express a lot. Thus, its spoken quite quickly compared to other languages.

No good! My love ones usually give me shoes, umbrella, clock, etc. Thanks God I haven't been living in Taiwan for a long time. When I was a child, I lived in Taiwan for 3 years and 9 months, but I haven't seen people taking their shoes off to walk around the house. That's super odd! I've lived in Hong Kong, as well, and I have never seen people removing their shoes to walk indoor. It's not healthy to wear slippers offered by those folks when you visit them. Imagine bacteria, germs, viruses and of course the terrible odor are in their slippers. I will never wear slippers worn by other people.
