The only useful tutorial for this game on youtube. And keep in mind, that this game is on my shelf for like 2 years and haven't played it yet cuz I was afraid of the complicated rules.

Wow this takes me back, it feels like forever ago I worked on this, still some of the best alien models I have seen but the rules were so complicated. Thanks so much for watching and posting;)

we just need some editional Class-Deck cards for aliens wich allow to attack after running :) that would hit the point of Alien combat in my opinion. each model has 2 AP's.I ask myself if a marine/Predator can spent 1 AP to shoot a chosen target,and his 2nd AP to shoot another?Im pretty sure youre not allowed to spend both AP's to attack 1 target?right?

I didn t buy this game yet cause it seems pretty complicated, what s the victory condition? How a player can win the game pls? And the price of it. I really liked the video

Is it possible for the alien player to compete in the first mission? all the games ive played I or person playing as the aliens always suffers the same problem. Flamerthrower around corners. cant get near the thing spread aliens about and hide and sneak but always ends the same with aliens dead without doing anything and the marines and predators going head to head.

The alien player does have an uphill battle in the first mission, and the flamethrower is a big problem the only way I see the aliens coming out on top in this scenario is by holding back and hoping the marines and predators fight it out or if you are able to get some cards that will help. I know the company is looking at redoing the rules which would be great if they do it right this time and they are releasing new units so you could get different aliens out there. It does seem one sided though. It would have been nice to see the aliens be able to convert tiles during the game to help them get around. I know a lot of people have had balance problems with this game.

+Learn to Play Games yeah it kinda ruins the game for us as we want to play as aliens but they are not fun.

So The combat chart is confusing if I need a 14 for Rs and I roll it and I have a gun with St of 12 a -2 is added to the Armor save of the enemy. Now by that logic the combat knife is a 0 stregnth and would be a +10 to Armor save of the enemy. Or if I had a weapon of 1 ST it would be a +9 how would you ever hit?

I know that they redid some of the rules with an updated rule book a little while after this video so you might want to check that out as it might clear up some of this.

On your ranged attack example, the alien has a passive skill Dodge. That allows him to roll the dice to see if he dodges the attack before doing the armour test. Is that right?

+Clive Hitchcock I had a chance to look over the rules and I watched that example you were talking about and you are correct the alien would have gotten a dodge roll first which you would have passed on the 5 he rolled and if he would have failed that than he would have gotten an armour roll. thanks for pointing this out. There are so many different checks and rules that need to be remembered it is easy to miss things from time to time. I will make a note of it in the video. Sorry it took so long to give you an answer.

Ya this one has some great minis, but the games rules are challenging. I have been really enjoying Aliens game from Gale Force Nine and I am hoping to do a live stream of it on Saturday if you want to check it out and say hi we will be live streaming most of the day I think;)

@@LearntoPlayGames I finally got a hold of a copy of this game and I see what you mean about the rules. This is the biggest board game rule book I have seen. Looks really fun though
