Frocery stores in my area keep losing sales. I don't always carry keys/wallet. I have no idea what phone # my loyalty cards are under. I don't have time to start a new card......at POS. So when they dont scan a card i just walk away from my purchase.

As a customer these programs are more annoying than anything unless I am at a grocery store or somewhere I go twice a month. Why do I need to be extorted to give a store my personal information that can be hacked or sold when I just wanna buy a fcking candy bar and Red Bull and go about my business? They make it seem like they’re doing me a favor by letting me buy their products……I’m just here to buy something quickly and go I treat your store like a one night stand in and out there’s no loyalty leave me and my information be take my money and let’s part ways.

Thanks for the great content! Have you checked the Chinese superapp meituan dianping? Dianping is the counterpart of yelp. Difference is that dianping is combined with meituan, the counterpart of ubereat or deliveroo. Having said that, I think dianping’s loyalty system could be easily associated with many transaction situations and by very valuable. What do you think. I’m really interested in digging out more in dianping’s loyalty system and how to improve it.
