Leash Plug Installation Video

This week we will be showing you one way to install a leash cup on a surfboard. The leash cup is an essential part of the surfboard; it keeps you in the line-up which allows you to catch more waves. Here are the tools you'll need for this installation:
- drill
1" hole saw bit
weight
sanding block or electric sander
Materials list:
1" tape
surfboard laminating resin
catalyst
thiksil
pigment or tint
razor blade
Ron's mini leash cup
80 grit sandpaper or abrasive disk, 120 grit, 180 grit. Another option is 40 grit abrasive disk, 80 grit sandpaper, 120 grit sandpaper, 180 grit sandpaper, 220 grit sandpaper.

Will this same method work for original fcs x2 plugs?

I had the stainless steal bar rust off and brake. (Stainless will rust.) Been surfing 40 years and I've never seen that before. It's in an old epoxy long board and I had to use a cylinder shaped stone grinding bit in and a drill to get out the plastic cup. Used my Milwaukee die grinder on part of it, but it literally melted the leash cup to a liquid. It actually had tiny bubbles after it re-solidified. What a pain in the A$$. Once it cooled down enough used it at low speed with my drill and I think its good. Started raining so I'm waiting till it stops to finish. Thanks for this video, I've never had to fix a leash cup before.

Can you also use these for added bungee tie downs? or is there a similar thing?
