I think United did their homework and tactically it paid off. Konate just coming back from injury wouldn't be in the momentum, Trent is often out of position and the weakest defending, so attack their side. If Trent's passing (his strength) is off, then his game can be noticeable, but would the real Madrid fans be as patient with his inconsistency? I feel that Slot should have brought him off earlier but I'm guessing that he didn't want to trigger upsetting Trent. For me, the squad is ideal for Trent and Real isn't. Personally I hope he stays, but I wish him well whatever he chooses.
