Does anyone else find the hammer taps soothing? Either while watching these videos or while working one's own project?
@digitaIgorilla3 жыл бұрын
Thought I was going mad. In my headphones I'm listening to you talk, and work in near space, but in the distance I can hear vikings coming up river to attack my village. I checked everything else that was running on my pc before realising what I was hearing lol I like it. Sets a mood!

Nice braces. Thank you for sharing. Very thankful for you introducing me to Lonsdale leather. Love them.

Its not a Dark Horse video without too much antique! These are very cool and I think I need to make myself new vambraces for some reason.

I like the weathered look before you sanded it but in the end I think they turned out great. I really have to get some oblong punches to speed up my work. Great Job!

Ya I wasn't suuuure about me sanding it up but at least it didn't destroy it

@@DarkHorseWorkshop That's the truth! I think you should work a helmet next btw.

Very nice.. A suggestion would be to wet mold creases and do prior to finish.. This will protect leather From getting stress marks

This is my first time commenting, so hi. I'm very new to leather tooling. Been working with leather in a limited way for a couple years, and getting into it more lately. I recently decided to add carving and stamping to my hobby and your work is a good inspiration. I especially like Celtic knotwork, which is quite similar in design to your Norse work, so it's especially enjoyable to me to watch your fantastic Norse designs come to life. Thanks for the videos.

That was cool and the finished piece looked more antique with the scotch Brite pad scars on it! Very nice!

Thanks for the video, Magnus! I actually really like the sanded look. Maybe we call it a Bob Ross moment? 😁

It's not armor, but I would like to see you do a leather viking sword scabbard construction with inner wood core and tooled leather overlay. Yes, there are some videos out there on this, but not made with the skill of Magnus of Darkhorse Workshop. Focus in detail the stitching, especially down to and including the pointed tip. Magic word: Please. Thanks. You rock.

been there as a model painter. models got all these nice colors. its looking great. then you hit it with ink ...and it goes to crap, fast.
@vorpalsmithforge67653 жыл бұрын
Question about the transfer you used, did you intend to have the ink wipe away as you were tracing the design or was it “just what happens”? Because that seems like a great idea to help keep track of what you have and have not traced. And if it was intentional, do you mind sharing that info?

Ive thought of a potential solution to your antique stain issue. Use a paper towels or a shop towel to put the stain on first and then apply it evenly. Or use a cup and a chip brush. Unless youre doing it for likes. Then keep on keepin on my dude.
