Opened an old trunk I've stored a bunch of retirement stuff my guys gave me in 2015. In one was a brand new Leatherman MUT. I had no freaking idea that my Supply SGT liked me so much! In any case, after 5 years I finally called him to thank him for it.

There isn’t a lot of products and companies I stand behind 110% but leatherman is number one on that short list I’ve never bought anything from them and felt that I got a bad product or got less than what I’ve paid for

Truth! I have three Leatherman tools going back to the beginning and all of them have absolutely "0" issues. Solid as a rock, and capable tools. I recommend these tools over any.

Just a heads up you can use the longer bit with the tool closed you just have to push the lockdown that keeps the closed thing together and it fits into a notch.

I looooove my leatherman mut though mine came with the coyote pouch the buttons didn’t snap though so I ended up getting a rain tactical pouch it carries my mut the driver set the extensor sight tool streamlight and battery

Seems really good Bryan. Thinking the two pockets on the pouch would hold short tooth brushes for cleaning a gun and the threaded hole in the needle nose head would be good for short rods or chamber brushes. I'd use that for my M1A chamber cleaning. The side spandex on the pouches I'd place a flashlight and a small cloth inside a Ziplock bag. Looks like the pouch might hold a Rats tourniquet in the pouch spandex also.

You realize the threaded rod holder in the tip of the pliers is the same one when the pliers are fully closed...you said you didn't know why you'd use that one over the other....they're the same one.

I paid 100 bucks for this guy 10 years ago to take on my deployment to Afghanistan, within 3 weeks of being there, I dug through all my gear praying I didn’t leave my wave. Found it, and never touched the mut again. I just didn’t like it all that much.
@warweaponx66292 жыл бұрын
Agreed. People see “Military Utility Tool” and instantly want it. The Wave Plus is a much more versatile and useful multi tool.

But does it have a pair of scissors I can trim my mustache with while hunting? LOL Someday Leatherman will come out with an AR10 tool No not to work on them but when you fold it open it is a fully functional AR10 that shoots 7mm08, 308 or 6.5 creedmoor depending on which model you get plus very small and fits in your back pocket or the belt case when folded back up after use Hey don't laugh as I was a kid in the 1960's telling people how someday everyone will have a device like Dick Tracy has and be talking to anyone anyplace in the world anywhere they went with them and dimwits laughed saying, That will never happen Funny how no one is laughing about that fact 60 years later in the same way some guy at Leatherman might read this and say to himself, Ya know what? that's a good ideal and go to work on designing it today for release at a later date Later in 2030.....The new leatherman AR10 tool with scissors to trim your mustache a saw blade to cut down trees with also including the Olight weapons light with fold out fork spoon and steak knife available in 7mm08, 308 and 6.5 creedmoor LOL
@kenstirling53484 жыл бұрын
I hate that they couldn’t just give it a standard blade. Knife companies always have to ruin a good knife by putting those stupid serrations on half the blade.
@PrettyboyPrepper3 жыл бұрын
I don’t think that leatherman invented multi tools. I had a Swiss Army knife as a kid. 🤷🏽♂️

Pretty sure the swiss army knife preceded leatherman by at least a few weeks...😏. Although they don't look like the plier based multitools, they certainly ARE multitools...just an observation.

Cool multi-tool, but cost prohibitive (aka TOO EXPENSIVE) for what you get. Purchase a regular, Leatherman multi-tool, then put together a small, gun maintenance kit, and you'll come out with a better package. Punch pin: short piece of wooden dowel. Carbon scraper: spent 223 or 5.56 casing with the end flattened. Cleaning Rod Handle: If you're carrying a section of cleaning rod, carry a kit. How about carrying a snake? lol Bolt Override Tool? lol I'm a retired vet with nine combat tours and I've never experienced a scenario (a round that doesn't seat on the bolt face and gets wedged between the chamber and bolt) that I needed a specialized tool to clear the malfuction. If this particular malfunction does occur. . . . you can use a fixed blade knife, folding knife (I wouldn't recommend a slipjoint knife), loose round, needle nose pliers end of your multi-tool or pen will work perfectly. You can even eject the mag, slip your middle finger into the mag well and move the BCG to clear the round.
@jakob37363 жыл бұрын
The Swiss Army knives started the multitools
@SurvivalOnPurpose3 жыл бұрын
Well, sort of. But, let's be honest. Tim Leatherman came up with the first of what we commonly call a multi-tool now (a folding tool with pliers) in 1983. Victorinox came out with their version, the SwissTool. in 1997. I guess if you want to be really particular, Og the caveman discovered the first multitool: a rock.

The extra 2 bits for the screwdriver/torx bits are poorly executed, one I need pliers to get out. You say they'll shake out, they are extremely tight and you needle-nose pliers to get them out
