Follow John Royer as he films Luke Sweeney and John Nugent on the last day of the Pennsylvania Rifle season in Clarion County. Luke misses a nice buck first thing in the morning. Then Royer attempts some deer drives for John and Luke. Luke gets a nice doe with his custom built mauser action 30-06 in the pines. During the last hour of the hunt John fills his first tag of the season with his 760 gamemaster 30-06. Hard hunting, but now comes late season!

make sure these 2 friends of yours go to the range and practice shooting and make sure to make an ethical and humanely kill... if a deer needs another bullet put one in her, so she won't be suffering like the one your friend shot..i can still see and hear that doe was still struggling just as you said, '' nice '' you can hear her trying to get up and took her last kick... this is why peta always on us hunter's asses, cause hunters like your buddy here.

Deer don't always fall right over even with a well placed shot, only shot I've seen consistently deer drop on impact is a neck shot.

You guys might need to think about changing your bullets i cant think of a time i had deer run that far with a 223 243 6x45 .277 wvl 6.5 grendel 6.5x55 7mm mauser 8mm mauser 7/08 280/06 7.62x39 even my m1917 i run sst or Sierra and dont get them to go 40 yards so cant think of why they didnt drop faster other then bullet choice

I've used a Dame master 760 since I was 13 years old and am now 32 just bought a new 7600 to replace it but it is the very best gun in my collection or at least my favorite! You just can't be a Remington pump action for hunting! Their the very best hunting rifles!

Miss my 7600. My wife's uncle and I both shoot wrong handed. And the 7600 rifles really do lend themselves to the southpaw. Almost added one last month in 280 Rem. But I found a new old stock stainless Ruger M77/44 44 magnum that I just had to have lol. As is life

I watched this and just was thinking, this was my kind of deer hunting on the last day back in the 80's. Except that there were about 8 drivers and 6 shooters. Everyone tagged a deer and we split up the meat on Sunday after the skinning and butchering was done. Man, those were good days!

Awesome video as always. Way to go on doubling up on the last day. 70 deer spotted, 5 sets of bear tracks, snow, and a truck bed full of deer meat doesn’t get any better. And yes, the opening weekend of archery season is designed for filling the doe tag. Golden rule fellas. Don’t pass a deer on the first day that you wouldn’t pass on the last day lol. You guys are way too loud in the woods. I cant tell you how many bucks I've shot bedded down while tracking shot deer. Track quiet and still hunt big bucks wont always move even when shots are fired.

Shooting deer on the run through thickets and other hunters is wrong in every aspect of hunter safety. The idea is to put a kill shot on the deer not just recklessly shoot your guns like that. Good god you boys need some training b4 you kill someone.

Sad thing is most hunters aren't practicing enough. It is very clear to me at deer camp those who dont and those who do. Of us that do, almost all of our deer drop in place. Of those that don't most deer run quite a ways and some aren't found
