I’d like to see a tour of the aircraft! That would be cool to see the inside where the passengers are. Always great videos! Love the instrument angles.

Great video … love all the pop ups! I’ve learned so much … I know it takes a lot of time but your work is #1 on KZbin in my opinion.

Just the best videos out there period. Diagrams of the STARS, text explanations, PFD on small window, it doesn't get better.
@williamharvey6976 жыл бұрын
Superb video editing. Awesome STAR insert. Love following your flight on STARS and PFD! Also love the flight plan insert on the PFD. KZbin is full of "out of the window" scenery (which admittedly is great!), but watching the flight progress on the instruments and STAR insert is a real treat! I'm a relatively new flight-simmer and you really help tie it all together! Thanks so much for sharing!

Clear for takeoff, runway 24. I see it on the pavement. Takeoff power is set, two good engines. 80 knots, crosscheck. V1, rotate. Positive rate, gear up. 400 ft, flaps up.... I think we can use our imagination for the departure audio. Haha

Great material & superb Phenom 300. Videos not intended as instruction but are certainly interesting if not instructional with many useful takeaways for amateur IFR pilots (like me). Any chance we could see short video of recurrent sim training session, say focused on managing emergencies, you'd not ordinarily practice in your aircraft? Again thanks for awesome series!

Hi Jesse, nice video. Out of interest, what happened to the airspeed? It drops to 207 at one point (18:09) whilst still being bugged at 250 before recovering. Also, if you could tell me how you record the ATC I would be eternally grateful :-)

Hey Jesse! I'm taking delivery of a brand new 300E in a couple of months so I'm looking for great additions to the cockpit. I noticed your IPAD mount on the window. What mount is that or do you have a suggestion on a better one?

Jesse, one small request. I think in your last video you went into good detail on the weather. Would love it if you went into weather a bit more on bad weather days.
@IllFlyIt6 жыл бұрын
I sure will Jose. I'm a weather geek and look at a lot more besides TAFs and METARS. ForeFlight makes it easy to quickly access a lot of the weather graphics I look at regularly. I'll try and incorporate them into future videos. Thanks!

Great flight, superb video. Thanks for sharing it again. Quick question, who actually decides which FBO to use? Is that a company policy or is that the flying customer as he in the end has to pay the FBO-bill?

Don't forget these low level prop things are some of the airplanes we learned to fly in, not that I have one! I have a higher level prop thing, 1979 Bellanca Super Viking nicely upgraded and it paid for! N623AM
@iceman80a676 жыл бұрын
Referring to someone's pride and joy as a "slow little prop thing" is disappointing... Not a pilot and I still know what a Tiger is, and a Viking, and a 182, etc.
@dominickatx4786 жыл бұрын
That was Jesse's copilot... I don't think he meant any disrespect, they are just trying to figure out what type of aircraft it is so that they know how fast it might be moving as compared to their approach speed. Don't want to run anyone over!
@IllFlyIt6 жыл бұрын
We weren't trying to be uppity or disrespectful. I wasn't sure what a Tiger is and Todd said it was a "slow little prop thing". ATC issued us a speed restriction (170KTS) to help maintain the spacing but I still like to know what I'm following to the runway.

Good vid. But ATC was louder than you, so when overlap, could not hear either very well. How long did that flight take?
@rwilson8816 жыл бұрын
Good vid love the text n graphic overlays. Thanks I assume the tiger was a old Grumman Tiger. If so, Copilot had correct description. 😂 Interesting I never looked at Garmin’s STAR crossing alts for min or max. How’s the transition to G3000 coming along? Keeping coming, always love to see beautiful 300’s.
@IllFlyIt6 жыл бұрын
Yeah Ron the G1000 always defaults to the bottom altitude. Usually it works just fine but it does not calculate a constant descent rate to the bottom altitude which causes the step down level offs. Some pilots get annoyed by it and will modify it. I just let it ride because I'm lazy. I haven't seen the G3000 other than the differences at CAE. I've heard we're taking delivery sometime in September. I cant wait to fly it!

@IllFlyIt6 жыл бұрын
Yeah it sounds like we're talking down about the "little guy". Todd was just giving me a quick description of what it was and I don't think he intended to be condescending about the pilot or plane at all. Glad you enjoyed it!

I was in pilot training and soloed but didn't get my PPL.I really wish I could try again.I was thinking about my training and can't remember how to determine the rate of descent,I think I know but not sure, does your system calculate that or do you do the math in your head.
@ronakjoshi53396 жыл бұрын
Just a quick question: When the ATC says descend and maintain 8k, is the descent done at idle thrust or at vertical profile to meet the restrictions?
@IllFlyIt6 жыл бұрын
Usually the thrust is whatever is needed to maintain the assigned speed. That clearance to descend to 8k over rides any other descent restrictions.
@wiedehopf90686 жыл бұрын
Unless the ATC specifies a descent rate you have to do at least 500 ft/min but ATC will usually expect at least 1000ft/min and probably 2000ft/min while above 20000. In New York they sometimes get annoyed if you don't do 1500 ft/min or more. Then they will ask you to expedite. If you have quite some way to go and want to stay high which is more efficient i've seen many pilots go for 1000 ft/min. So basically they know how far the airport is and tweak their rate accordingly. I believe in Europe descent rates are much more commonly specified by the controllers.
@bruce23576 жыл бұрын
I need a squawk code to ident. That reminds me of an old joke. Controller: Cessna 234VM say airspeed. 234VM: Airspeed. Controller: 234VM say cancelling IFR. 234VM: Uh, 100 knots sir.
