Great video and timely for me as a UK expatriate presently in Australia. You have won my subscription. I have been scratching my head on best way to deal with the properties and investments left behind in the UK. Do you guys offer financial advice services?

🛩️ With some dedicated planning leaving is possible. The continued depreciation of quality of life in the UK just reinforces my long term plan to chip. Great food for thought guys, thanks for sharing.

@@TheHumblePenny Please can you make a video on the pros and cons of moving abroad from a financial perspective in other English speaking countries vs the UK, if not done so already? If so, please can you share the link.

How about the 25% tax free of your pension when you moved permanently? Do you loose it altogether?
@TheHumblePenny10 сағат бұрын
You don't automatically lose your 25% lump sum simply by moving permanently abroad, as long as you remain in a UK pension scheme. However, if you transfer your pension into a QROPS, the tax free benefit might be altered or reduced depending on the specific rules of the new scheme.

Can't go to Spain for more than 90 days 😂
@TheHumblePenny5 сағат бұрын
UK citizens can visit Spain for a maximum of 90 days within any 180-day period without needing a visa. If they exceed 90 days, they'd need to meet the Spanish government's entry requirements. Someone in Spain with a residence permit or long-stay visa does not count towards the 90-day visa-free limit. The point in the example in the video is that Sarah is deemed resident in the UK as she's stays 183 or more days in the UK.

Absolutely, for a few years I use a stock broker for the Ghana stock exchange on Index Funds, and Agri-Investments for farmers growing all types of crops with 15-25% variable returns. Country only investments as a non-resident. Same for Jamaica as a citizen. The banks will ask a requirement of TIN applications for tax for the stock investment accounts. These things are put in place to offset the likely taxation from my UK earnings. There is always a lot to consider before leaving 🛫...walk, don't run!
