Like you I'm Polish and grew up abroad (in the US) and remember celebrating wigilia for many years since childhood. When I was a kid I was happy I could open presents on the 24th in stead of the 25th lol. As I got older I learned to appreciate Polish Christmas because I feel American Christmas is just very commercialized and I appreciate and value similar things you do regarding Polish Christmas. Now as an adult who lives across the country from my immediate family in the US and even further from Poland I definitely miss the very things you showed in the video. If you are able to make it to spend Christmas with family its definitely worth it for the reasons you talked about. Thank you for sharing this aspect in your personal life and giving a bit of nostalgia to those of us who haven't had a proper wigilia in years. 🙂

Apparently I was wrong. Yes, they do know. I've had 12 doggies in my life so far. All but one lived to 15 or more. One lived to almost 19. RoyBuss LaVerne. One died of lymphoma at 5. Pozdrowienia z Brazylii! 🇧🇷 I know this video is already 5 months old, but I'll leave a comment anyway. First of all, because I've become a fan of your channel, and the way you tell your stories. Not really hard to be so, considering the fact that I also have an overlanding rigged Defender 110 (although not a full time traveller... yet) and that I learned how to love your country, Polska 🇵🇱. Seeing all the things in this video has brought alive wonderful memories of Christmas, from helping along with assembling pierogi, cleaning carps, piercing oranges with cloves... to sharing the opłatki, the goodsmelling barszcz z uszkamy, śledź and so on! You did the right thing flying to spend Wigilia with your folks. And I'm glad you shared a slice with us. Even late, I leave here my Wesołych Świąt Bożego Narodzenia życzenia to you, for whenever you watch this video again! Any plans on passing by Brazil anytime soon?

This was so lovely to watch 💜🥰. Seeing you say “see you later” to Vilk was sad but I knew the reunion would be so beautiful, as it was. Seeing you with your family was so heartwarming , and made me realise how much I miss mine. I lost my father when I was kid and both grandfathers the year before that, I only had my mum and sister and grandmother for most of my life, but as life goes, that doesn’t last forever. My grandmother lived to an old age, but I lost my mum just over a year ago and it’s been the hardest thing I’ve ever gone through, she was my biggest support, advocate and best friend and ever since I lost my dad as a kid my biggest fear was losing her. My sister and I have really had to lean on each other as it’s been quite a shock how quiet life has become, peoples lives go on while yours stands still, it’s harder than most people know, but also liberating to know you’re ok alone. Sometimes it just suck that people forget. This past Xmas was definitely harder than the last as people canceled last minute, but me and my sister made it our own. Thankfully I have my dog, who was my mums dog (the family dog too) and I can’t imagine life without him, we’ve become closer than I ever thought we could, I spose it’s just a different type of closeness. But I completely understand that worry and pain you were experiencing when you had to leave Vilk, I take my dog everywhere, and if I can’t I always have to hurry home to him like a worried parent lol. Dogs give a love like nothing and no one else, they’re so precious and we are so lucky to have them in our lives. Thank you for sharing this with us Eva, I love watching your videos every week. Sending love from Melbourne Australia 🇦🇺💜✌🏼🐶💋

I just dread when it’s my time and loved ones have to look at my empty seat. I’m glad you had a wonderful holiday season. Till the next season, as always stay safe and healthy. PS: When the times comes I hope you find love again. Your heart deserves to be shared with someone. It’s to genuine and big not to be.

I remember when you traveled through Texas and called it something like exotic. I’m American so I thought it was funny hearing that. But I could say the same about your polish culture and tradition. I loved this video-it was so beautiful and amazing to see your Christmas with your family. It’s a gift that you shared this special time with your followers. I didn’t expect to see vlogs of you back home because it could have been no camera time , but it is so cool to see where you’re from. And vilk omg is the cutest happiest boï to see you😩 he’s so sweet I want to hug him

Man! I ENVY your life. You’re so full of positivity that I literally can’t stop binge-watching your videos. Honestly? I don’t know how do you do it. You’re constantly on the go; I wonder if you ever get physically tired because I know I would. Either way, you’re an absolute inspiration to me and I can’t believe that I accidentally stumbled upon your channel. I’ll always be here, supporting. Sending love and light. 🤍

Great video Eva! Thanks for taking us along with you for a holiday ski trip and a wonderful Polish Christmas with your family! Having had 10 German Shepards/Alsatian dogs so far in my life I know how hard it is to leave them behind! And what a joy it is to reunite with them when you get back home! It makes all the difference in the world for one’s peace of mind if you know they’re in good hands while your away! You really have some incredibly wonderful Friend’s there in Baja California watching after your fury four pawed companion! You could see how happy and well cared for he was with the great short video clips of him with them back in Baja! Loved your reunion with him and your friends, seems very much like many of mine! Oh what joy! Thanks feels like I went on a short vacation with you! Great fun!😊👍🤗🙏🍀🤞✌️🤚🫶🐕

Okay, you reuniting with Vilk totally brought tears to my eyes. Time with your family, tears in my eyes, just so beautiful Eva. Thank you for capturing such beautiful heartfelt moments and sharing them with us. So healing for me personally. I really have come to lean on your weekly uploads are a huge part of my mental wellness, and one thing I'll never have, is the precious bonds that you maintain with your family back in Poland. Beautiful that your journey home for the holiday's is able to gift me with a little healing. I'm grateful for you, for your adventurous spirit, for your persistence to carry on no matter what life presents as a challenge. May you continue to inspire so many for many years to come. God bless you Eva. Wishing you good health for 2023.

You are so right about not taking those family get togethers for granted. We are all on a march toward the end, and the older one gets, the more one is left with only memories of those who are no longer here. It's a hard lesson to learn - it's so easy to think there will be another Christmas where everyone is together. But...

I got confused at first and felt deja vu but then realized I follow you on Instagram. That's where I saw your updates while you were in Europe and Vilk was in capable hands in Mexico. Looking forward to what's coming next. Also, seeing family is important if you don't get to do it often. I saw someone say if you normally see your older parents once a year you need to realize that could mean you only get maybe 10 more visits. It puts things in perspective.

I love the message about treasuring the time spent with family. When we rush and focus on pursuing some external symbols of success, it's easy to take the things we already have for granted. Thank you for sharing your insight and thank you for inspiring all of us!

Leaving my dog for three months. (In the middle of graduate school I took the summer off to interview for jobs and visit friends took me half way across the US. I left Melanie with my mom and dad. Melanie was my first dog as an adult. I traded a motorcycle for her. She went everywhere with me. Hiking, camping and even to class. Sat in the back during the class and sat next to the table in the student union. I took her to the park when I was studying I a ball into the water, would get it and drop it at the top of the hill and let it roll back down to the water. That summer I travelled for three months and returned at the end of August to go back to school. Melanie was so happy to see me, and I had missed her so much. She and I were together for over 17 years.

As an expat far from my family (I live in Canada, they live in Belgium), Christmas can be sometimes hard... and place tickets are insanely expensive at that time, so I prefer to go back in the middle of the year. But I'm happy to see it went so well for you, and what you prepared seemed delicious! :P

Your comments on never knowing when you might lose people you love is very real to me. I lost both my mom and dad over 15 years ago, and my family home I grew up in was sold and transported to a new location in Canada. It feels weird to go to my home town and not to be able to go home. Living a long life is wonderful for so many adventures, so it is so important to enjoy those you know and love every minute you can.
