I lost the first cat I rescued almost four years ago and I know I'm still not ready to let go. She was my first rescue, my first pet, she was only three years old and I know I still mourn her and I know I'm not letting go any time soon. I still had and still have her two sisters and the year after she passed we rescued another cat and the next year we rescued our fourth one, so now I have four cats that I adore with all my life and I will be lost without them. You take your time, girl! You had and have a lot of things happening. Give yourself your deserved break. I love you

October was a busy month for me too. My five year-old niece was diagnosed with cancer. She’s been getting all the treatments and doing good so far but we’ve got about another year worth of treatment. Just trying to stay positive, but I’m not gonna lie. It’s hard and it took a toll on me and the rest of my family.

Hi Sam I am very happy to see you :) I really like what you are doing and after dealing with several medical issues I find that I too am needing to stay home reset my internal clock . I did join our local "Spinners and Weavers guild" and am learning new things as well as spending fun time with a group of wonderful people.. I built a spindle ( hand held version that does the same thing as a spinning wheel) and I am mastering other new skills. I also made a homemade weaving frame from a picture frame and I also made small round cardboard round loom to weave small trinket bowls :) I have found that I am getting bouts of depression after illnesses lately ( shingles and severe arthritis lasting two months (still having issues with my hand control since I have a neck full of bone spurs (numb-ish hand etc )I just yesterday bought two new books . One is a mystery novel with a witchy theme :) I plan to read to music because that way I can put my cpap mask on and I will get sleep :) Long story longer( as Jade The Libra) would say I need to work getting better at more than just weaving :) Keep up what you are doing because you have a great plan .I miss you when you are not here but am very happy (Mom moment) that you are taking the time to care for you

Hey ghoul, good to hear from you. I hope things continue to get better. Congrats on improving your diet and exercise, it's amazing how much that can change your outlook on things. Wait until you have a young dog again, you'll be jogging at the end of that leash😂 Must have been wonderful to have family visit, I definitely understand the sadness when they leave. I hope you find the right therapist, it sometimes takes trying out out several before you find one you click with, esp because you are a KZbinr. I usually work 5am-1pm shifts, but was offered a 6-11pm shift schedule and I really love it. I have bad fatigue issues and I didn’t realize that I actually have more energy at night, so I rest during the day and kick butt at night. I’m really happy. 🥰

So glad to see that things are going well for you Sam! Mental AND physical health are so important to our quality of life. Prioritizing those things for yourself is paramount. I have to often remind myself that I can't pour from an empty cup. So in order to be my best for those around me, I have to first take care of myself. As you mentioned, I also find it difficult to not constantly work on stuff. I have trouble just sitting back, relaxing and just truly enjoying things. So I've been trying to make it a point to just slow down and really appreciate all the blessings I have in my life ❤

I feel like the past year or two I've just been going through the motions, at the end of 2022 going into 2023 I had some scary health stuff going on and just feel like my... for lack of a better way to describe it, personality hasn't bounced back.

It's so good to see and hear you Sam! You sound a lot less stressed out than you have in the past. I'm glad you've been able to work out and cook...very important for mental health to eat right! Congratulations on your weight loss too! If you need to continue your break you should do it. Our mental health is the key to everything in our lives. Both the Spencer’s and FYE in my mall are loaded with spooky stuff all year. Spencer’s even has merchandise normally seen in Spirit Halloween(due to owning it) but most of it is theirs.🎃👻

@@HalloweenHappy Sorry for the late response! Routines are the foundation of my good mental health. I keep plants and a fish tank so I have something that takes 5 mins everyday to tend to that makes me feel like I’m being productive everyday, and gives me the motivation to get up out of bed. It doesn’t work for everyone but doing the same thing repeatedly makes it less overwhelming for me. Other things I like to do to take care of myself are journaling, daily planning and checklists, drawing, going for walks or drives with oddly specific playlists and cleaning and organizing my space. I’ve found that warming candles or drinking hot drinks and just kind of appreciating my senses is also really soothing. Sorry for the long response, but I hope it helps and you have a lovely day! Also side note, I’ve been in and out of therapy for quite a few years and I found that DBT/CBT based therapy was more effective for me versus process therapy and if you’re not sure what that is I would encourage you to look into it. I’m proud of you for taking care of yourself ❤

Ghoul you KNOW I am here for the long haul, I ain't goin nowhere! I am so glad to see your face and that you're so happy and I LOVE the hair! What am I up to, we are now raising our Granddaughter who will be 5 on the 30th of this month and man is it STRESSFUL!!!! I mean we have had her pretty much at least half the week since she was born but as of about a year ago we started to have her full time. We are also looking for a house because our tiny condo was fine for us empty nesters but not with a 5 year old and all their toys and stuff and the running around. House hunting is NOT fun!!! It is a literal nightmare! It is such a sellers market so houses are being snatched up almost before we can look at it! Oh, and once we get our house we are getting a dog!!!!!! I can't wait!!!
